Get 50 rings then double jump so that you can transform into Super Sonic.

The feather is right below the dead bird. I'm not sure, but if it's not there, try to open up the chest at the right first.

To catch the parrots, you have to have the fishnet. Go to where Winslow is, dive underwater, get the fishnet, use it on the parrots, then put them in your jar. Otherwise they escape after some while.

I finally solved the problem...turned out that I didn't get the damn list of ingredients from Galeb...as soon as I got them, Guybrush finally started doing what he's meant to lol.

Stuck on Episode 5. I'm trying to get the secret from the thief. I know what I have to do, but it doesn't appear to be working. I have Lechuck's belt buckle, and I show it to the thief, and he gives me his whole trust speech. But, when I click on the secret after that, I'm still unable to take it...I just get the same canned response about him not knowing what the secret is.

I have the Steam version, BTW. Am I missing something, or have I run into a bug? I'm so close to solving this and ending the whole series, and now I'm stuck on this one step that I figured out how to do in the first place...it just won't seem to work. Help!

If you haven't checked your other thread, let me restate this. You're actively trying to use the belt. It's a passive object that makes you more trustworthy. You don't need to rub it on the thief to gain his trust. Just take the secret and leave. This time he won't steal from you.

Yep, I checked the other thread (apologies for the double post...posted here first and then thought that I should start a thread for it). I've also tried just walking into the thieves den and clicking on it as you suggested, and I get the same result. I have the belt buckle in my inventory, but I can't pick up the secret. I also tried showing it to the thief again (several walkthroughs suggested this was necessary), and he gives me the trust speech...and then I'm still unable to pick it up. I'm at a loss for what to do. More and more, it appears to be some sort of bug. It makes me want to whip out a hex editor and see if I can figure out how to hack the stupid save file just to put the secret into inventory so that I can continue with the game. Aargh.
