Well technically if we count every single day from 7 July - 8 December inclusive we find it was 155 days. If we take into account the fact that 3 of those months had 31 days we can then use the calculation of 152/30 and find that Tales lasted 5 1/15 months. I would hardly say it's fair or justifiable to round 1/15 up to 1.
