Default Old SoMI Magazine Ad

I was looking through my pile of 20-year-old gaming magazines I got for free at the library, when I stumbled upon an ad for the Secret of Monkey Island. I got kinda excited and wanted to share with the class.

Telltale should give out sound cards as contest prizes. Just sayin.

Hehe, cool! Interesting, that they call the Voodoo Lady 300 pounds (Well, I'm assuming that's a lot, I don't have time to calculate what that is in kg), even though she didn't get fat until Curse.

That would be 136.077711 kg, for anyone who's curious.

Also, why do I always feel the urge to send stamped envelopes in to old contests whenever I see these really old magazine ads, even when I know it won't do me any good?

I have a subscription card for the LucasArts Adventurer newsletter thing. I think it does me more good in the MI2 box than it would do if I sent it in, though.

Here's one from MI2:

"All the musicians we wanted are working in '70s comeback bands. So we scored a few tunes ourselves, added some great sound effects and went home."

Does that come from Gilbert, Schafer or the Grossman?

It's interesting that Guybrush it describes as 'short', which kind of invalidates his design in the remake dontchyathink?

And in Curse and Tales. Considering he may only be sixteen, perhaps he just wasn't fully grown yet. Or perhaps when he reversed LeChuck's turn into a child curse, he overdid it. Or the rest of the pirates got shorter.

Yeah, I figure he just had a growth spurt between LeChuck and Curse related to his age.

Heeeeeeeeeeeeey Jake deleted his comment and my reply! I've been silenced!
