Default Telltale's Future Games Revealed in Survey

So, Telltale is trying to pick the newsletter subscriber's brains for things like slogans in the newsletter survey. But they have also revealed something interesting: what they are considering for their next IP.

They asked what would be most interesting to us as their next IP. While the choices they provided are likely things that are only considerations, and not anything that they have even tried to get the rights for yet, it is interesting to see what they're looking at. Even if they're just looking at the general style wanted by their subscribers rather than these actual series, it's worth thinking about.

The provided options are the Sierra Quest series, Gabriel Knight, More LucasArts, Leisure Suit Larry, Myst, Infocom, and Broken Sword. I of course chose Infocom(Zork, Planetfall), Gabriel Knight, and Sierra Quest series.

Oh, by the way, interesting to note: Since the last poll I entered in, those creating the polls seem to have noticed the existence of Loom.

I picked Infocom, more Lucasarts and Gabriel Knight. I bought the King's Quest Collection off Steam a while back, and it took my rose-tinted glasses and stomped on them. (except KQVI, which actually was as good as I remember)

I spent about 5 minutes thinking of my three favourite films

And I picked Broken Sword, Gabriel Knight and Lucasarts. In the Lucasartsa specific question I picked Grim Fandango even though i'm not sure if I really would like a sequel

Broken Sword would work so well with the episodic episodes, there could be a really great cliffhanger every month!!

What, no Futurama? No Doctor Who?

...have we not been getting through to these people?

I'm not convinced that "What IP shall we seek the licence for?" is the same as "We'll seek the licence for this IP if enough people want it". It's possible, nay, probable, that Telltale will be using these as examples to try and find out the kind of games and gameplay that people are interested in.

Huh? You could pick 3? I thought just the one (so chose for more LA).

For the LA sequel I picked Day of the Tentacle.
They seem to have forgotten Maniac Mansion and DotT are from the exact same series, offering them up as 2 seperate options...

I brought up Futurama during Telltale Heart #1 and they were like, Huh? Futurama? What's that?

I thought it was weird how they seemingly described the new S&M game as if it was more like an action oriented series.

I've yet to finish playing the CSI games so i'll have to hold my judgement on Telltale's ability to craft non comedy titles heh...

Another lucasarts game would be neat, I personally think Zak Mackracken would really suit the sort of vibe of telltale's previous titles you know? Then again, i'll never say I wouldn't be excited by another Loom game. I LOVE LOOM, but i'm likely to be overly and needlessly critical considering my adoration for that bloody title.

Ooo, another maniac mansion unrelated to the edisons and maybe following sandy and dave could be interesting? What ever happened to the other kids?

I think I picked Lucasarts, Broken sword and um... I forget the third lol. *fail*

I kinda wished the Legend of Kyrandia was on that list, even though I knew it was a one in a billion long shot.

Wonder what I should do with my 15% coupon and my free episode. I have all the games and the MI poster...

(Side Note: Honestly, Telltale would have to get an IP that sounded really stupid for me not to buy it. There's just not any real adventure game competition right now.)

For someone who likes to sit around and complain so much, you sure as hell picked some bad choices. I wasn't fond of any of the games listed, but at least I didn't pick Sierra Quest.

Edit: I don't mean to sound like an ass. It's just ironic.

I picked Sierra Quest, more Lucasarts, and Broken Sword. Infocom would be good too, but I don't think they'd fit with Telltale's style (tex would work best).

I finally managed to FIND the survey. I chose Sierra Quest, Broken Sword, more Lucasarts, and under LA IPs, Maniac Mansion, DOTT, Zak McKraken, LOOM, and Full throttle, but with greater uh, implied emphasis on Maniac Mansion/DOTT.

Keep in mind that we might also be looking for links between the type of gamer you are, the games you enjoy most and what you think about Season 3. There are links between them!

Hopefully many people think like me and we get a TTG Black Metal Day of the Tentacle sequel/Political Thriller with Role-Playing elements...

Just admit it's so you can put subliminal messages in the games to drive us into a consumer frenzy. Then on to phase 2, adding fluoride to the DVD's... ohhoho, when I break this story you guys are going down
