Question Why don't Steam users get a discount?

... when buying the Deluxe/Standard editions of TOMI?

I want it for the same price all the other people that bought all five episodes last summer are getting it for.

Because the free DVD was a Telltale store exclusive and Valve gets a cut of the Steam sales, maybe?

You didn't buy it from Telltale though. Steam is entirely independant from Telltale. The discount is as if the $35 you paid previously was a partial payment towards the total $50 for the deluxe edition. You paid your money to Steam though. If you wanted Telltale's awesome customer service you should have bought straight from them. Also, Telltale are a lot nicer regarding TOS and activation and so on. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but I hope I answered your question. That's the reason you can't get the discount. If you haven't already tried sending an email to Telltale's support I'd recommend doing it. They might be able to explain better and more accurately than me or may be able to check with steam and give you the discount.

Steam is pretty closed, they don't give their details to anyone. Which makes people trying to make statistics on PC Digital Distribution popularity crazy...

...and prevents you from being able to get the free DVD if purchasing it from Steam. Sry.

Is it possible to activate a TTG DVD on Steam? If not, it would be cool if TTG looked into this.

I've heard that it's possible to buy a physical copy of a game at a retail store and then activate it for use on Steam. I would like to know if that's possible with TTG's DVDs.

This is only possible for a small percentage of the games.
This does not work for any game by telltalegames. The only games That support steam activation are in this list:

https://support.steampowered.com/kb_...7480-WUSF-3601

You can install the DVD-version normally and add a link to the games as "non-steam-game" in steam though. Your friends will see what you play but no playtime will be recorded and the game is not downloadable through steam.

Ohh, I see. Generally the games you can do that with are games that require you to activate them on steam to play at ALL and most of those are Valve games.

Thanks for the info, I didn't know about that list. I wonder what it would take for TTG to add themselves to it? I mean, if they're willing to make their games available on Steam for unlimited downloads in the first place, then it's not like it would be against policy to add a serial number on the DVD in order to activate them on Steam, right?

They would propably have to pay VALVe money for every activated game.

That would doubly-screw Steam users. They don't get the goods, and we get a DVD which (asides from all other bonusses) allows us to DL on Steam too.

Evil... I like it .
