Default Sound on DVD

So, this is yet another of those "Please do this" threads, and I'm sorry about that.

I was watching videos of TMI earlier. There's this thing that's been bothering me since Spinner Cay. Specifically, it's...I guess low compression on background sounds. For example, the waterfall in Spinner Cay, or the wind at the very end of Chapter Four, which at times sounds a little like when air being blown through teeth. Uh, I might be wrong (hell, chances are I am wrong), but it's noticeable and detracts from the game, I think. Not to the point where I dislike it, but it's very much there.

And I was wondering if you guys could fix that for the DVD release. It's not something that's super necessary (assuming it even exists and isn't a fragment of my own imagination), but it'd be a nice thing to have.

Good job overall, though. I'll shut up now.

The bad thing is not people making threads to ask for something; the bad thing is when people make threads on topics that already exist. I wish you would have just used the old thread.

Ah, the good ol' forum paradox: if you create a new thread, you are accused of not using the search function and old threads, if you bring up an old thread, you are accused of "necromancy".

Yeah plus sometimes the search feature doesn't work the best.... next thing you know you will end up in the Bone forum trying to talk about monkey island LOL

instead of being a grammer nazi about the whole thing, can we just forget about the fact he didnt know there was a topic like this, personally if they arent stickied i dont think hes done anything wrong, especially seeing as its not the on the front page,

ANYWAY, uncompressed sound on the DVD would be brilliant, i never noticed the music before i just only ever noticed the main theme, everything else was just in the background, yet i put in some earphones to finish part 4 today and the music in the last few scenes was really great, made me think what else id been missing and why had i been missing it, and the compression issues being solves would definatly help, yknow what else would be cool, a soundtrack, i bought the retail sam n max season one and on it it had some tracks from the soundtrack as MP3's which was really REALLY cool, thatd be FANTASTIC for the dvd, especially stans MI2 theme, id LOVE and mp3 of that!

I honestly didn't notice. But in S&M I did notice poor quality sound in places and it had a very noticeable effect on my enjoyment.

I cant tell if you are being serious so in case you are not

The search kicks up threads from all the forums not just MI...
Sometimes its easy to find a topic other times its not.... So when someone posts a thread its polite to point out the thread that's already made but I find it rude when people jump down their throats.

Bone.... as in TTG's second game Bone based on the comics by Jeff Smith.

I've seen the old thread, but I thought that was about the characters' voices. My bad if otherwise.

the problem with having just one thread about the topic is that it probably won't get through to TTG as much as a bunch of threads clamoring for it.

The insanely compressed sound and music really is a huge drawback. Especially for the music, I really can't believe how poor quality it is (the audio, not the compositions), the music is one of the main characters to any MI game

Pretty much every thread on the forums gets through to TTG, regardless of quantity of posts or similar topics. They actually do read this stuff, you know.

But at any rate, higher quality sound is always welcome.

Agreed. A few years ago I bought the Sam and Max season one DVD and noticed straight away how bad the audio quality was for the voices in the game. When I preordered the Monkey Island season I got a free episode, so I chose the first episode of Sam and Max season 2 and found the sound quality was even worse than I remembered. I also remember how bad episode 2 of Tales was before they took notice and fixed it.

I will never purchase Sam and Max season 2 only because of the sound quality. I am hoping dearly that Telltale does a good job of the audio with the Tales DVD. Please please PLEASE have the audio uncompressed for the DVD, I AM BEGGING YOU!!!!

Being pedantic isn't the same as being a grammar nazi; grammar is to do with language specifically. Also:

I realise I'm being incredibly pedantic, but you can't call me a grammar nazi for it because I'm talking about semantics and not grammar! Muahaha! *disappears in a puff of smoke*

I know, I hate when people say "grammar nazi" and it has nothing to do with grammar. It makes no sense.

And I don't get why being a grammar nazi (or a spelling nazi) is such a bad thing. If you're using bad grammar you often end up saying something completely different from what you meant, sometimes even the opposite. Or something nonsensical.
Or course syntax is important too. And spelling. I'm not for nitpicking when it's still understandable, especially on the Internet where a lot of things are just typos, but I personally find it more annoying when people don't correct me.

I remember that recently I used a word, can't remember which, that I had been pronouncing a certain way for years. In his answer, my husband used that word... pronounced a different way. Man, did I make a scene for his never correcting me.
Apparently he thinks it's "cute" when I pronounce things wrong. But how am I supposed to progress if people let me make mistakes? That's infuriating.

I probably shouldn't talk too much, since I've stopped correcting people's mistakes. Well, I do it a lot less at least. I've noticed many people get offended instead of being grateful. Whatever, keep being misunderstood, then, if you like it so much >.>

If I had a sticker like this I'd wear it 100% of the time. Right on my face.
