It wasn't cliche. It brought up the idea that there is no one interpretation for the Joker. Sometimes he sees it one way, sometimes he sees it another. The backstory he remembered in that comic is just one of many backstories he remembers. It was in his head.

From Scott Kurtz. Yes, yes, I know, Batman doesn't kill people. Whatever.

I didn't realise he ever killed people. You learn something new every day.

If I'm not mistaken, his earliest incarnation even carried a gun.

So does Lucky Luke, and the movie said that he never kills. Also, he witnessed his parents murdered by criminals.

You see, this is why the Shadow is much much cooler. The Shadow needs some love, people. What's better than a pulp superhero who laughs maniacally while mowing down criminals?

If you want out-of-control Batman, look no further than the trailer for Batman XXX: A Porn Parody...

(Yes, it's SFW, though I'd hazard a guess that the full feature isn't... )

np: Sugar B. - Love You Anyway (Sixteen F***ing Years of G-Stone Recordings (Disc 1))

Wow. I finally got round to wathcing Batman Begins in it's entirety (i watched the first 15 minutes and got bored before), and i have to say, it's amongst the best i've seen. I really need to pick the Batman films up on Blu-ray...

Robin: "If we close our eyes, Batman, we can't see anything!"
Batman: "That's a sound observation, Robin."

NOTHING beats 1960s TV Series Batman.

But the 60's Batman reeks of Andy Warhol and his... "unconscious art." It is the duty of the artist to reflect the world as it ought to be, not as it is damned to be by some spasm of the lower mind.
