Default Do u think its time for an animated series or a movie of Monkey Island

Ive been thinking about this for along time now, ever since Pirates of the Caribbean came out. Ive always wondered why nobody had even considered of doing either an animated series or an animated movie of Monkey Island. I think they can still do it, but I would pretty much want to see it as a 2D film.

I think I'd just like to have another game rather than a movie. A game provides you with a much longer period of enjoyment.

Especially when it's an episodic release.

I wouldn't mind seeing an cartoon show based on the first 4 games (maybe Tales too) in CMI or somewhat better style.

It could also be like a way to advertise the games
Kinda like the .hack anime series.

It must have the original cast of course.

It could definitely work if done right... Possibly a mini series.

No. What would Guybrush be without me? The gamer!
Might as well look at a walkthrough.

Woops, I didn't read the 'animated series' part in the title. I guess an animated seies could work, but I'd want hour-long episodes; not half-hour one. Because the episodes of Star Wars: The Clone Wars (CGI series) only half half-hour long episodes and I always find that they move too fast through the story and could definitely do with more running time so that characters can be elaborated, environments properly explored, more complex plots used, more explanation involved. MI would certainly need longer episodes if there were to be a mini-series, but like Irishmile said, it has to be done right. Otherwise it could be disastrous.

And another thing, if they were to create a series or a film, then they should not attempt to change the style of MI or dumb it down for the more mainstream audience. I would hate that.

I made a thread about this awhile back, but i would love to see a Animated series, but of course they have to do it right, and not butcher it, do it in a curse style or even the art style of tales (from the tarot cards), i think one thing i enjoy from Escape was the cut scenes, cause it was near enough like a short monkey island cartoon, if tales gets permission from lucas arts to make a animated series ill be happy

I think a film, if promoted right, would get far more fans than the games ever did, and give all the games a huge new lease of life!

Why not a feature film and then a series to follow it up? This is quite common.
