I'm currently looking into getting the Sam & Max episodes for the iPad, but it's unclear if the subscription model / pricing will be available through iTunes. I'd rather buy it for PC if it's going to be $15 cheaper then to purchase each one separately. can anyone shed some light?

I think it's been mentioned in other threads in this forum that it would be hard (impossible) to sell the game as a season on iPad due to Apple's app system.
However, you might like to know that The Penal Zone for iPad is currently $6.99 in the iTunes Store.

Wasn't it selling for $9.99 before? When/why did the price drop?

IIRC, it was selling for $9.99 before release.
Not sure when the price dropped, but the iTunes Store page and the Telltale Store page talk about a "special introductory price".

A few days ago there was a slide on the front page that said the $6.99 sale would run until April 18.

Yep, there's currently no way to sell a season on iPad the way we normally do, so each game is going to be sold separately. Sorry for the inconvenience, and glad you like the games!
