Default SPOILERS: How did Skunkape do that?

First, everyone is all up and about that Max has psychic powers and stuff.

Secondly, the future vision toy is taken from him by Skunkape, who uses it to predict the exact same thing Sam and Max predicted at the episode's beginning.

But then, at the end of the episode, Skunkape says that he wants Max because he's the one who can control the toys, or something like that.

Do you need psychic powers to use the toys? Do Skunkape AND Max have those powers? In that case, why would he need Max?

Aaaaaaah maybe I missed something

Skunkape is probably ordering Gordon the brain, who is alive at that stage, to use the future vision toy -- and share the vision in the same way Sam share Max's.

Yeah, it's probably the brain. He even says that Skun-ka'pe is forcing him to use his powers against his will. That's why he died.

Oooh, that explains everything, even why he needed Max; the brain died again.

Thanks!

Yep, all perfectly logical. The narrative logic is unbroken, the narrative outline, however, shows a slight gap here!

Maybe SKP could have at least mentioned what a great favour our heroes have done for him by re-awakening the Brain. Or maybe give us a glimpse into the mechanics of "using the powers through someone else's head", be it Max' or Brain's.

It's far better they don't explain too much, especially as this leaves the path clear to retroactively change the story at a later date.
