Would upgrading the forums (as was previously promised) actually fix this?

In any case, we need better human verification than we apparently now have.

With the number of spambots on this forum, you could make quite a bundle as a deputy mod.

And by quite a bundle, I really mean be able to afford an indie game. Maybe a mainstream one if it's a busy week.

Seriously, there needs to be more (and more complicated) Human Verification fields, at the account registration page.

There also needs to be e-mail address confirmation. I just created a test account to see if it would, and it doesn't.

Perhaps they could design the forums to require email confirmation before any posts can be made. But at any rate, apparently the current CAPTCHA box doesn't work well enough. Perhaps they could have an easy verification (so any idiot can buy a game) but a more complicated human verification for posting for the first time on the forums. It could even be something simple, yet still requires a brain to make sense of it.

that still requires manual input for creation of the account, which means that each and every account would have been deliberately created by the user. If that user is trying to spam dozens of forums with perhaps multiple accounts per forum, that still requires a lot of human interaction. I think it more likely that some bots have updated their software to overcome CAPTCHA.

So I'm sure you guys remember my copy of Monkey Island 2, complete with everything but the code wheel.

Well, now that I've gotten it signed by Ron Gilbert, Tim Schafer, and Dave Grossman...

...I decided I was tired of it being incomplete. So I bought some grommets on the way out of work today and took matters into my own hands.

I think I might've overtightened the grommet a little (I was trying to be careful, but it still doesn't move as freely as I'd like), and I didn't really get the hang of cleanly cutting out the windows until the end, so I might have to do it over again.

The thing that's bugging me most about the US debates is the politicians today talking about who won the debates.

A lot of them are talking about how Mitt won because he had some good one-liners that attacked the president. That's a ridiculous thing to say. This is a political debate, which is supposed to be two (or more) people talking about how they plan to run the country. Who made funnier lines attacking the other doesn't matter. It's not a rap battle.

Those are Republicans saying that. Everyone else is wondering how Romney could so blatantly lie, it's like he doesn't really believe the faith he claims to be a part of.

Because he's a politician marketing himself to decent god-fearing folk? If he doesn't tick the GOP's boxes to appease the profile of their grassroots supporters, man on the street voters and big business financiers then it's hardly worth them having Romney as their flagship product. It's worth saying the Democrats are guilty of all the above as well, they're just not as obnoxious a party.
