I think the internet causes something very similar to it. I know that once upon a time I used to have this intense focus where I could shut out the entire world (or at least it felt that way) and just do one thing for hours. Shortly after I started hanging out on the internet more, I started finding it more and more difficult to do the crazy shit I used to do... like sit still and read for twelve hours straight or stare at a wall for hours while carefully remembering every detail of a movie.

Huh, my workplace doesn't let me lose that ability. I'm more or less sitting in a passage room between my boss' room and the rest of the company. So you either learn to ignore everything around you and concentrate on what you're doing... or you get nothing done.

The internet is just stealing all the time to draw cool stuff.

I'm not talking about that, I'm talking about childhood nutrition and its long term effects. There is a lot of research that shows that bad nutrition can cause learning disabilities and other issues with development in the brain in the long run.

But let's say it is completely and undeniably over diagnosed, which I'm willing to accept. What does this say about this current generation of parents? It says that more and more parents are willing to seek professional help when it comes to their children and have more access to doctors. Along with this, childhood mortality rates have dramatically declined in the past 80 years. So despite the overabundance of diagnosises, there's something right going on.

It just seems weird to me that all the sudden this current generation of parents are apparently really bad at parenting compared to the tens of thousands of generations before them. Maybe they're all bad, I don't know, but it just seems like too simple to go straight for generational blame. Maybe it is something as simple as that, though. I don't know.

Just a thought I guess.

OK, I don't normally post Youtube links, especially as I'm usually the last to find out about them, but this one seems to keep staying on my mind.

I don't know why, but this pic made me laugh a bit.

Also, using the total randomness of my mind, I think that Alvin should continue with SMBZ (don't know it? google it.)

Faaantastic date last night with the doctor girl. Did dinner at an Italian place in the little village and then went for dancing and drinks. She's going away for a bit but is likely moving near me soon. Woooooo!

Yes, we remember the doctor girl.

Although that picture in the What do you look like thread is long gone.

So the city of Wittenberg has nominated Pussy Riot for the Martin Luther Award. Religious and conservative voices protest, the "religious dimension" of Pussy Riot's deeds had supposedly been ignored in this decision. "Luther towns should not honor blasphemy" is the argument. "They protested at the wrong place" is another. So where do you protest against the amalgamation of state and religion if not in a church? I mean, they can't really get into the Kreml for that. A third argument actually is that the translation of the band's name is offensive. WHAT, REALLY?

The Award "The Dauntless Word" is traditionally given to women and men who "are ready to take rigor into account for dauntless appearance". Fits like a glove in my opinion.

Good thing Martin Luther always shut his gob concerning religious matters. When that guy saw anything wrong with his church, he probably just looked the other way instead of writing his own fucking bible. In any other case, all this outrage would look like the purest bigotry.

Wake the fuck up, Friedrich Schorlemmer. We have to make clear to Russian fundamentalists where we stand. Pussy Riot have protested against a corrupt and depraved religious system, exactly like the 'blasphemous' Martin Luther. You can't just duck and cover. Outrage right back at you.

The problem with religious nutcases is that they take everything too seriously and often miss the entire point of their religion. Jesus taught his followers to "love thy neighbor" and "turn the other cheek", and yet people have killed and raped and tortured and started wars in his name.

The fact of the matter is, people will claim to follow a religion, yet what they're doing is simply twisting it and distorting it to fit their views, even if it really shouldn't fit at all. Because people will believe whatever they want to believe, even if they have to lie to defend themselves.

It's been said before and it will be said again many a time: You can't fix stupidity.

Ooh, Thanksgiving. A day to gorge yourself with food.

Can't go wrong with that, whatever the month.

Happy Thanksgiving Canadians! I'll be joining you in the harvest celebration next month.
