In my opinion, the best would have to be 'Rise of the Pirate God'. The best Sam & Max episode is 'Chariots of the Dogs'. But I love/like each and every one of them. I think of them as seasons rather than individual episodes, any of these episodes would feel out of place if they weren't accompanied by the rest of the episodes from their respective seasons.

Why would you buy only one?

My favorite is still Sam & Max 105, but that doesn't mean I'd forsake all the others.

(Now I've got that C.O.P.S. theme song started in my mind. Oh well.)

Chariots of the Dogs, Abe Lincoln Must Die, or Lair of the Leviathan = best.

Chariots, Reality and Trial and Execution = my favorites.

Tell Tale games is very professional. They have very skilled workers who can get massive projects done in a short amount of time. The work they do has won over most critics and never have they reached any real failings.

The characters in question, they are very well done. TellTale games does a truthful and accurate job of capturing these characters.

It falls on you, if you've played either Sam n Max or Monkey Island which game should be and is marketed to you.

Personally I'm more of a Monkey Island fan and so I prefer Monkey Island.

I will have to recommend Sam & Max 105: Reality 2.0 if you like 8-bit music and oldschool gaming. If you don't then choose Night Of THe Raving Dead or Chariots of the Dogs.

Wow, I'm surprised at the popularity of Reality 2.0 - that was one of my least favourite episodes. By no means was it bad, but I thought that it had more things wrong with it than other episodes and it just wasn't as enjoyable. And I must admit that I wasn't really a fan of the whole theme of the episode and I didn't enjoy the actual 2.0 world at all, I much prefer the classic, real Sam & Max locations rather than the brightly coloured virtual ones.

I also got pretty badly stuck in this episode which made me dislike the 2.0 world even more. Having to spend an excessive amount of time in a world that you don't like doesn't exactly do the world any favours.

If you're asking because you want to play one, I'd suggest the first episode in a season to play them in order.

If you're just asking which we liked best, I'd say among these (since you didn't include Abe), I'll have to go with 103 because of the mob song.

VERY hard to answer. Can't this be made into a poll?
It depends what you like in a game. Take your picks!

And my personal Oscars go to:

Best original story:
"What's new, Beelzebub?"

Most innovative gameplay:
"The Tomb of Sammun-Mak"

Weirdest story ever in a video game:
"Abe Lincoln must die"

Best music:
"The Mole, the Mob and the Meatball"

Best and most enjoyable puzzles:
"Chariots of the dogs"

Best minigame:
"Night of the Raving Dead"

Best female controlable character:
"Lair of the Leviathan" - The Voodoo Lady ("controlable" is arguable, though)

Best female supporting role:
"The Siege of Spinner Cay" - Morgan LeFlay

Best male supporting role:
"Launch of the Screaming Narwhal" - Reginald van Winslow

Best graphics:
"The Penal Zone"

I prefer her in Lair of the Leviathan. She's barely even there in Spinner Cay.

Play them in the right order or if you really don't want to, play Season 2 from Night of the Raving Dead onwards - 3 GREAT episodes

it was like heaven for me. Returning to the 89-bit music of the games in my childhood... the whole concept of reality 2.0... the textadventure part... the C.O.P.S.

Chariots of the Dogs is by far the best episode Telltale has ever produced, but the effect is diminished if you haven't played the rest of Season Two.

The Trial&Execution of Guybrush Threepwood was my favourite there, although, without the rest of the tales episodes, it doesn't hold up.

Trial and Execution was the best in ToMI, I don't have a favourite with Sam & Max as I haven't played them through yet.

Have you played any? If so, what's your favourite so far? I'm eager to know .

And could anyone tell me their favourite Strong Bad episode? I own half of the season, but I haven't played any of the episodes yet...

I liked her for expositional reasons in SoSC. I did like her in LotL, also!

Hmm so far I have only played the first 4 episodes, and I am on episode 5 now.
But I like what I have seen so far, so I think for now Episode 105: Reality 2.0 is my favourite.
