Default RIP Satoshi Kon

RIP Satoshi Kon.
All my fellow anime fans will know who he was, unless you're exclusively Narutards. The man behind such anime as Paranoia Agent and Tokyo Godfathers has passed away today at 46 years. A moment of silence, if you please.

My favorite Japanese director period. More than Watanabe, more than Kurosawa. He was an amazing, talented man with visions that are unmatched.

Paranoia Agent was a masterpiece. This news practically destroyed my entire year.

To Secret Fawful - my friend, I am quite sure that you must not spend the year in regret. Rejoice that he was around to share his work with us. Life is far too short to spend in sadness.

To Bubblechan - I suggest finding an assload of his anime and watching it all. It's good stuff. I cannot immediately recall him doing anything mediocre. Besides, by your logic; my being American means I should be ashamed for not listening to ke$ha, and I am quite proud that I do not.

This is really very sad. It's not often that I genuinely feel like I will miss a director, but that's how I feel here... My world will be less interesting without him making more fascinating stories.

I suppose you're right. I guess when Satoshi Kon heard his final film would be given every effort to be completed, he wept openly. I'll do my best to enjoy it just as he would have wanted everyone to do.

You made a point regarding Ke$ha I should look for his anime. I normally respect Japanese whose work are recognised outside Japan.

Paranoia Agent blew my mind when I saw it on TV for the first time, and since then I've been a big fan of all his work. Hopefully the production on his last film, The Dream Machine won't be effected too much by this tragedy.

I havent watched Tokyo godfathers in a long time but I should really check it out again, this is all of a sudden bad news to hear. Even since this guy was one of my favorite anime directors. RIP Satoshi
