Is there a way to delete my save games, while in the game or do I need to delete them outside of the game through the folder the save games are stored in?

Goto the following folder and delete the savegame files:

Vista:

C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Roaming\LucasArts\The Secret of Monkey Island Special Edition\

XP:

C:\Documents and Settings\[username]\Application Data\LucasArts\The Secret of Monkey Island Special Edition\

And while we´re add it: Am I really limited to 10 savegame slots? Or do more appear once I've used up the ten...

I really don't get what's so hard nowadays to give you the possibility to save as many games you like... and to name them how you like. Yes, the latter counts for Telltale as well!

I usually like to keep saves from before every major cutscene or really special/funny/dramatic scene. And I want to give them an according name. So that I can later on re-experience all the highlights of a game in half an hour...

I just tried doing this the save files are no longer in the folder but the save slots are still there in the load section of the game.

I just checked to see what the problem may be, it appears you have to delete the monkey1.bin file also. You don't have to delete the Settings.ini file though.

I think the slots are indeed limited to 10 and more will not appear.

Is there anyway of just deleting one of the saved games.. this method just seems to delete them all.. I tried to just delete the file with 1 next to it and they all go?

Why do you want to delete slots??? you can just save a new game over another one

I hate having extra slots of a save I will never use,
Its one of my obsessive compulsive things.

I have my 100% game at the top, I just want the one underneath to be removed.

I'm having this same issue. anyone have a proper answer to deleting individual savegames from SoMISE? deleting the savegame file alone doesn't remove it from the ingame list
