Default Do we consciously interact with extra dimensions knowing it but not knowing it?

If we are drawn to things out of nature, out of the order of the universe, if things are as they have to be, once they're measured, if everything is functional and the universe isn't growing...do we get involved in extra dimensions that we don't commonly talk about, read about? Do we directly influence other dimensions?

And what about dimensions outside of time, do they exist? What sort of impact do are actions in time have on those dimensions if any? Are there dimensions we commonly talk about that are static in time even though they don't appear to be remote to time to us?

We interact with time but we're mostly aware of that .

Here's an answer to my question by some guy

"I think we do interact with higher dimensions, but not consciously. It's just our body mass, in terms of layman, that interacts with higher dimensions but not our mind.
You must be knowing that gravitation is the weakest of all the fundamental forces. Why so? The reason is existence of higher dimensions. The particles responsible for gravitational force, called the 'Gravitons' tend to escape into higher dimensions, hence reducing their effect on our current dimension. The gravitational force measured by us in our current dimension is hence reduced.
So, if you're getting my argument, I think you'll be able to comprehend that our bodies do interact with higher dimensions but our minds don't.

Hope it helps!!
Nice observation though "

What that guy said seems pretty plausible, except I wouldn't call other dimensions "higher" dimensions as that implies some sort of hierarchy. "Other" or maybe "parallel" dimensions seems more accurate.

Also, this video may interest you (and it's generally awesome) (and it's got Carl Sagan in it):

I refuse to interact with extra dimensions. I at least learned one good thing from Event Horizon.

1. The person in the quote is talking about gravitons and extra dimensions as if they definitely exist. That is in no way certain.
2. I think that if our bodies interacted with extra dimensions in any meaningful way, then those effects would be detectable with any type of matter. As far as I'm aware, no such effects have yet been observed.

I am not a quantum physicist (IANAQP) though.

I'm finding these philosophy threads more and more frustrating as they become more and more abundant. We have a General Sciences and Histories Thread, so why not a general Philosophy thread to go with it?

I was gonna ask "...metaphysics is a part of philosophy?", but then I looked it up on Wikipedia, and I guess it is.

durp

I'd love to have a philosophy thread, and I guess you guys can talk about natural philosophy if you guys want. Should I make that? But only if you guys promise to be civil. I'll be civil too.

How can you conciously do *anything* without knowing it?! If you're concious of something, then you know about it. Sheesh...

Well , the way I see it, and my time is limited, you can consciously be driven to act to do something , you can set out to do something subconsciously being attached the outcome and yet consciously.

Instinct, natural behaviors, personality traits for example, you may act in a way that's self evident but you may not understand how you truly act because not all information and details in the universe are so obvious. Many are objective/ subjective.

We are usually conscious only on certain brain levels, certain waves, on other waves it's theorized that we can see lol...hear me out...ghosts or have certain types of dreams...etc etc.

It's like the one theory in this thread. Our bodies interact to other dimensions but our minds can not. Regardless we're still conscious what we're doing we just don't always know we're doing it but in a natural order of things we often act naturally...follow natural order lol.

One theory I've heard is that the universe pulls our energy like a magnets.

Sorry for posting again guys, maybe I'll start a thread. It's just a thread though, those who are bent out of shape...relax...
