Well, I think I'll mention the
Eagles - "
Frail Grasp on the Big Picture". Now, this song was off their 2007 album - '
Long Road Out of Eden' and it wasn't released as a single, so it's not going to gain anywhere near the amount of exposure or recognition as, say, "
Hotel California". But the song is so damn good, and I think that I'd even rate it as being just as good as
HC. It's just such a good song (
FGotBP), both musically and lyrically, with the
lyrics being some of my favourite lyrics of all time. They just give a quick summary of current Western society, touching upon and criticizing many of the main problems with our current social state. And when such great lyrics are accompanied by the brilliant music and guitar work, it just results in an excellent song.
It's just too bad that it will never be as widely appreciated as songs like
HC and "
Life in the Fast Lane", which is a real shame, as I consider it to be right up there with those tracks.
