Default anyone else getting epic mickey?

I personally wasn't that impressed with epic mickey back when they showed it a E3, but I watched the reviews from IGN and Gametrailers and BOTH sites compared epic mickey to my favorite platformer of all time! Banjo-Kazooie!! today I ran over to gamestop and preordered ^_^ and now i can't wait till tuesday, this is going to be AWESOME!!!!

I'll get it too. I don't know if I'll find the time to play it but I feel as if it should be in my gaming collection. It looks very artistic and different. And I like different. I also admire Warren Spector for the enthusiasm he showed for the project.

I am also a semi-disney fan.

I am also looking really forward to Kirby Epic Yarn and DKC Returns. Other platformers with their distinctive own style. I love Nintendo's creativity.

I really have little interest in it... but I am sure I will get it for the kids eventually

It's on my Christmas list, but I probably will buy it eventually if I don't receive it as a gift.

I also have a friend who is very wishy washy when it comes to consoles, but she's considering getting a Wii for Epic Mickey alone, which is pretty impressive.

I generally don't buy a game for the "story" or "world", but in this case?

Warren Specter knows his shit. You have to respect that. In many ways, this is the Disney game for those who appreciate and love the history of Walt Disney. Every screenshot makes me squeal like a schoolgirl with glee whenever I see a background element or character from the earliest parts of Disney's creative history. This game is going to be, at the very least, an incredible interactive tour of the Disney archives, and that's good enough for me to make a Day 1 purchase, especially with the prevalence of Oswald(whose cartoons I've loved for years now).

I couldn't agree more... i've been watching gameplay and there are sooooo many characters that i've forgotten about... the mad scientist guy, the sneaking ghost guy, and quite a few others... i'm positive that every time I move a corner i'll be running into another piece of nostalgia

on another note, i've never seen an oswald cartoon, any idea where I can watch them?

Here's my favorite. There's a DVD set of the shorts, with a fantastic documentary about Ubb Iwerks(often considered the "real" creator of Mickey Mouse, and historically must be considered at least as influential early on as Disney himself).

I won't get the game because I don't have a Wii but I'm having trouble not getting excited about it.

No, becuz its wii only and wiis are disgusting garbage

Nah, just kidding. Though I don't have a wii, so I won't be buying it. It's a shame, too, because it actually looks better than Kingdom Hearts, in my opinion.

It does look interesting; I remember hearing about it a while back and didn't think it was going to be very good, but my opinion changed after seeing some of the ads. So maybe I'll get it. Thinking about it.

Not sure what to expect though, as I've never really played anything like that on the Wii before. All I have are things like Wii Play, Wii Sports, Wii Fit... basically the games that come with the hardware!

Holy S*** it was compared to banjo kazooie im buying.

actually it has been proven mickey can work well in a dark world filled with disney characters already. Kingdom hearts anyone.
This game has many similarities to that such as mickeys heart playing a key role.

I'll get it eventually. Maybe not immediately; it all depends on circumstances. I played a demo of it at PAX and it was pretty amaze. The only issue I could think of off the top of my head is that mickey's jump seemed to drop faster than it should have, leaving for getting used to some unusual platforming. But yeah, it was pretty good otherwise.

That may have been an issue of remaining true to the animation of the original cartoons. I've noticed that a lot of animation has a(somewhat subdued) Ubb Iwerks flow to it, and perhaps by comparing the flow of jumps in original Disney shorts to the jumps of Mickey in the game would yield some sort of similarity(and in that case, the jump would be accounted for in gameplay).

I got the game earlier today and from what I've played, it is definitely very true to Disney's history and Oswald is brilliant so far.

However, it is nothing like Banjo Kazooie (or Tooie) at all to me...
