That's the power of a Moffat-run series. The show is currently better and more engaging than it has ever been before, and obviously that brings a lot of love with it. =P

Also, BBC America have been promoting the hell out of the show (although they still treat the viewers like dirt by speeding the episodes to 113% speed to fit in the timeslot).

Everyone's favorite companion that is named Victoria Waterfield has joined Twitter.

I dunno, I can think of a few classic stories that could do with being a bit quicker. Also that last series of Torchwood....

(Come on... come on... when does this month's Big Finish get ready for download? My subscription starts with the return of Mary Shelley!)

High five! It'll still be a bit, as they need to finish Vortex (but they said they're doing the final edit now and uploading it to the site today/tomorrow, so not much longer) so they can print that to ship out with the release. I've still got the last 3/4 of Company of Friends to listen to this week, plus 4/5 the CC Specials Box Set and a Lost Story, plus I really intend to relisten to a few as well. I also intend to pick up an ongoing CC Sub later this month to carry me until March or so.

Also; whilst I'm a fan of making cuts and new edits, I disagree on the Torchwood count. I do not recall if I posted it in here, but I watched the whole season a few weeks ago over the course of three days, and I absolutely loved it and don't see any of the problems people claimed it had. After watching the first part back in July, I thought it'd be wise to wait for it to end so I could watch it over a single burst, and it seems to have paid off.

But then you hated the old series. Seeing as you hated that and loved this, then it shows how much it's changed.

I didn't hate it, per se. I sort of liked what I saw of Season Two, but then Martha left and I had no interest in any of those people. I am also American, which means that explosions and sex are automatically my favorite things and therefore this is the best show.

I did hate Captain Jack Harkness. Truly one of the worst episodes of television I have ever seen, and a perfect example of why I feel RTD didn't incorporate a 'Gay Agenda' (just using it as a term, not claiming it's existance) in a satisfying way that didn't feel completely forced.

Children of Earth was my favourite series. Miracle Day was my least favourite series. I'm actually contemplating not watching further series. Jack's character seems to have been ruined (He's now just outright gay, instead of cheesy-omnisexual), Gwen's character has completely changed (understandably), but so much so that she doesn't have a reason to still be there. She should be happily married with a child, not running around investigating and dooming the world (beacause their ultimate aim was to kill everyone, not save them.). Plus I'm not keen on Rex's character, and was very annoyed when it was revealed he's been jackified. Which makes no sense.. I'm probably just sour because Children of Earth was so awesome, and would have made the perfect end point for the series.

The problem here is that the character traits of the main cast are 'annoying' and 'Welsh', which means that you really shouldn't find yourself caring too much for the characters. They're terrible people.

Also, I think saying that just because Jack is gay means they ruined the character is a bit harsh, because it is basically saying 'I don't like gay ppl' because of hte way you worded it. However, he is still omnisexual, but during Miracle Day we only see his relationship(s) with men.

I don't think saying making him gay ruined his character was harsh. What if they suddenly made the rory gay? His dedication to his wife would go, and that was one of his defining characteristics. I think they changed his character too much. I felt it was no longer Cpt jack I was watching onscreen, but John Barrowman. I have nothing against gays. I actually admire them in a manner of speaking...

I don't think its the same show I used to love. But if its found a new audience, I guess that's okay. I just don't think I'll be in it.

I tried watching Torchwood because I really found Captain Jack as being funny!
However, I agree that something has changed related to the character... he seemed more epic than funny in the new show. Or at least they tried to make him look epic... which was okay, I guess, but it's not the same dude that made me laugh in DW.

And then there were the "humpy-humpy" scenes that just drove me away. I understand that we, as humans, are bio-pischo-sexual-social beings (it's a fancy term, but true... look it up)... but in less than 10 episodes I've seen more "action" that I could care for.

Jack wasn't as funny as he was in Doctor Who, aliens start having "fun" with humans, the main female protagonist has a boring personality (if she has one)... meh.

I think I'll try looking at Sarah Jane Adventures. She seems funny. ^.^
...(RIP Elizabeth)

Sarah Jane is good fun, but the only two 'must watch' ones are the two with the Doctor. The rest are rather hit-or-miss and basically the third doctor era for kids.

And the one with the brigadier!

Also, McGann looks awesome with an eyepatch. The cup of tea adds bonus points.
