Default Did you get what you wished for?

So Christmas is upon us, and I am sure we have all written our wish list and given a copy to all we know to make sure we get what we want.

So I have this fun little idea for an activity that we could do until Christmas.
Lets write down our wish lists and then after we open out presents, be that the 24'th or 25'th (Depending on which tradition we follow, I am Danish so we open out presents in the evening on the 24'th).
We come back and cross out what items we got, and we see who got the most from their list.

It's only for fun, so you don't have to post your list if you don't want to.
If there is some items you are embarrassed of to post in public, either don't post it or post it as "Secret item".
Don't repost your post after you cross out items, just edit your old post so it will be easer for us all to find the list we are looking for.
If you get presents at a later time (Lets take me as an example, I am going to England at the end of January and I know I will get presents there as well). Then you are allowed to cross your items out after that.

If you don't know of yo cross over words I will here give you are little guide.
Write [ s ][ /s ] without the spaces around you word like [ s ]This[ /s ], so This will look like This.

So here is my list.

Matt Forbeck and Jeff Grubb: Ghosts of Ascalon.

Derek Landy: Dark Days - Mortal Coil.

Brent Weeks: The Black Prism.

Peter V. Brett: The Desert Spear.

Adrian Tchaikovsky: The Scarab Path.

Terry Pratchett's Discworld Series: All the Books.

Charmed Season: 1-2-4-5-6-7-8 (Allready own 3).

Hoobastank: Every Man for Himself - For(N)ever.

Nickelback: Curb - The State - Silver Side Up - The Long Road - All the Right Reasons - Dark Horse.

Lordi: Babez for Breakfast.

Serenity: Words Untold & Dreams Unlived - Fallen Sanctuary.

Alestorm: Captain Morgan's Revenge - Black Sails at Midnight.

A Danish book, and some books transelated to Danish.

Kenneth Bøgh Andersen: Ondskabens Engel.

Robb Kid: Jack Sparrow 8, 9, 10, 11, 12.

I want to play!

I've just copied and pasted from my original wishlist that I printed out and handed to my family. When it says things like 'you gave it away', I mean my parents gave it away, and not you lot. It's just how I wrote the list to try and convince them to get it for me.

A desktop calendar (Preferably CD case style)

Last Window: The Secret of Cape West (DS Game)

Ice Age III (DVD)

A new book (I’ve ran out in my personal library)

Squares Salt and Vinegar crisps (They are really yum)

An MP3. Not just any MP3 though, I want an MP3 that will play an album and then stop. I don’t want it to move on to the next album. I would like it to be 4GB or higher, and I would like it to have shuffle. Yes. I am awkward.

A book simply called ‘Grickle’
. Not ‘Further Grickle’ or even ‘The Book of Grickle’ as I have those. This one is just plain and simple ‘Grickle’. Oh, and hard to find! Since on Amazon you can get this book for £60 new, I’m more than happy to receive a used one as that costs about £10.

Secret of Monkey Island + Box (I want the original game in the box. You gave it away to someone. Now get it back).

Piano lessons or a book that will help me learn. It is my new year’s resolution to learn that darn thing. I want to know how, but I haven’t yet had the patience. I plan on having learnt it by the end of 2011. I realise that we already have a few books that do this, but I sort of liked the look of ‘It’s Never Too Late to Play Piano – with CD’ that I found on Amazon. Even better if you can get me tuition though. I had a look and can’t find anyone offering lessons so I guess I’ll just have to learn on my own.

Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2011 (Wii game). Yes, you read that right. There’s no need to go back and check. I want this golf game. However, with this I will require…

The Wii Motion Plus accessory. (For the Wii, rather unsurprisingly). Currently, I would only require this if I was to obtain a certain golf game (see above). I would prefer two, but would only need one.

Are you willing to pay £1000 for two books? If so, then I want ‘The Age of Sam and Max’ and ‘The Effigy Mound’. They’re £500 each.

Coronation Street (DS). Nah, I’m just kidding. Hey! Wait! Why are clicking add to basket? I was joking! I don’t want it! Nooooooooooooooooooo!

I have a history of never getting anything I want, so this'll be interesting.

My list...

I Shall Wear Midnight - Terry Pratchett
Red Dwarf or Wallace and Gromit calender
Shrek 4 DVD
Beatles 'Hard Days Night' t-shirt
Chocolate
Scrapbooking stuff
Books - Any
Serenity/Firefly graphic novels - All three
Firefly Companion book
Discworld Science 2 and 3
Chuck t-shirt
Darkstar Game

That's about it... Earlier this year I had a bit of spare cash so I pretty much bought something if I really wanted it. I hold out no hope for anything that will need to be ordered online, so I didn't really write much of that.

I'd participate if I hadn't already managed to pull off buying all of my own gifts from my parents on Black Friday and Cyber Monday, two of which wouldn't have been on my list if I hadn't seen them on sale those days, but both of which I very much wanted. Here, I'll put down the list of things I got and whether or not I intended to ask for them, things I intended to ask for but didn't get, and things I'm asking my grandmother for, and we'll see if I get those.

Got:
Not on List:
500 GB Portable Hard Drive
28x30 poster frame (for the Polesitting poster I got two years ago)
Five 11x17 poster frames (for the Devil's Playhouse movie poster set)
On List:
Rock Band 3 (had to buy my own keyboard for it, though)
The Beatles: Rock Band
Metroid: Other M
Kingdom Hearts Re: Coded preorder

Didn't Get:
Super Mario Galaxy 2
Super Mario All-Stars
Sonic Classic Collection
Pokémon HeartGold
Black Wii Remote Plus
Black Nunchuk
Black Classic Controller Pro

List for Grandmother:
Epic Mickey
Denim Jacket

Did you notice that I have a really hard time trying to think of things that aren't video games? Same problem every year, though I usually manage to balance it by asking for movies. The only problem with that is that sometimes my parents lean too hard that way. Last year, I mostly got movies and one Wii game I haven't played yet (Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles).

Ah, I wish I wasn't an adult.
I know what I'm getting for Christmas, a TV (which I'm sharing with my little bro), and the latest family guy DVD.

What I would love to buy myself for christmas/birthday, (if i have enough money that is!):

-Shenmue II Xbox (cheaper, but still pricey at a used price between 10-15 quid. after getting that game, I'll pretty much have the ultimate xbox collection (- steel battallion, but that goes for silly money!))
- Good Old Games (mostly interplay titles left on my wishlist now. COME ON INTERPLAY SALE!!!)
- Back to the future episodes (got most of the other telltale games now! )
- SNES (I want one of these again! I remember a long time ago my parents sold it, so we could get an N64) (It had awesome games too: Super Probotector, Super Mario World, LOZ: ALTTP, Starwing(/fox), Stunt Race FX, Super tennis, Dungeon master, final fantasy VI,and Donkey Kong country (At least those are the ones I remember...))
But SNES' are pretty pricey though, can easly go up to 30 quid on ebay.

(we have a place called denios market and auction) its 4 days a week every week every year.)

dont pay 30 quid mate .. thats what 70 bucks? lol man usd is worthless!
Shipping to you would be less than that from usa!! and I have 3 of them.. 2 work perfect one is .. well
you know nintendo! lol Let me know if you need USA info or want one of mine .. free..+shipping costs

I have a lovely Recipe for Hate shirt, not sure how rare it is but it's pretty damn nice

Also i'm def getting to that age where I appreciate a pair of socks. Though if anyone wants to get me a sweet wee jacket that'd do as well

I'm mostly in the "I dunno what I want" list. Everything that I really want's pretty obtainable. I wouldn't mind a new wallet though, it's bad luck to buy your own and all that

Its pretty funny isn't it how cheap they are in America.
But in the UK, they are suprisingly pricey (I guess no one wants to get rid of em eh? XD)

I mean I got a Sega Master System and 10 games (all in boxes), one actually being Ys: The Vanished Omen! for 26 quid
(Interesting to note, I didn't actually need the system itself, as I also own a master system converter for the megadrive as well)

Female!? Consider my masculinity rocked to its very foundations

The story behind the name comes from a Lee Evans stand-up show when Lee enquires about a man who went to the toilet quite a while ago

The shirt's just the dog heads, it's prolly a 2000+ run cos it's still in pretty good nick and I bought it spanky new. I did have a RBF tour t-shirt from when I saw them in Belfast. And I kid you not, I was working with halogen lights and the thing caught fire whilst I was wearing it. The silver lining was that at least the Belfast date on the back survived

Thanks for the offer of the Sega CD, you're too kind, truly tis the season of goodwill!! If you don't use it though you'd be better off giving it to charity than sending it halfway across the world to some goon

Also, i'm a nosey git, what felony did you commit? You badass

Scott Pilgrim & The Infinite Sadness
Scott Pilgrim Gets It Together
Scott Pilgrim vs. The Universe
Scott Pilgrim's Finest Hour
Take That: Progress
Another CD which I basically don't know, but it's either the Hurley album from Weezer or the Scott Pilgrim OST

World Peace: Not some namby pamby hippie world peace though. More like, an acknowledgement internationally that, yeah we don't like or understand each other and on the whole really don't want to, but hey, let's not be dicks about it and throw bombs about messing up everybody's air travel and package delivery, ya dig?

While I don't really do wishlists, if I were to do one, it'd basically be the same as GaryCXJk's, except with an MP3 player in place of "Take That: Progress", and a larger HDD for my 360 added.
