Christchurch Earthquake (NZ)
We were hit by a massive earthquake yesterday at around 1pm where 65 people (and much more to be confirmed) have lost their lives.
This is the second big one in 5 months. On the news were several tourists including an American couple who were in the city square when the earthquake hit. Glad I've got monkey Island cuz once my power came back on this afternoon I put that on just to escape!!!! America, UK, Taiwan and Australia have sent over help. So I hope anyone else living in or visiting Christchurch is ok, and their families. |

Lonnie i must imagine how horrible it was, in Puerto Rico we had 2 strong tremors of 5.2 and 5.8 and i ran like hell out of my house to find my neighbors outside. Ever since then i feel tremors, and whenever theres a relative calm and silence, i get this feeling there may be an impeding earthquake. It's been more than a 100 yrs since we've had one and im scared. Hurricanes are the usual quotam we get to live in the location we live by nature. But our island gets hit by a strong earthquake every 100 yrs aprox.

The reason so many people died this time is because it hit at 1pm when everyone was out and about or working in buildings. Yeh i know that impending feeling of anticipating another one...I was a bit afraid to sleep that night. We had tremors all night as well.
