The PS3 version has steam built into it for a reason.

Also. Valve got the 360 version to get this DLC for free too.

Well that's good, after playing and winning Portal 2, I felt it was short and needed some expansion. Is it single player or co-op DLC?

Meaning what? I never found out what that is. Is it like the harder version of the game?

It's timed versions of the individual test chambers. In addition to 0:00:00 style time, it also tracks # of steps and # of portals it took you to complete the chamber with leaderboards. Was in the first game.

There are also harder versions of test chambers FYI.
Perhaps a Wheatly Boss Battle with no portals

Probably Microsoft didnt want the bad rep for being the only people to not offer free DLC for this game.
And so far only the first pack is free for them. Who knows on the rest.

I don't think they did, I just read on Gamespot or IGN that Xbox gets it for $7 and PC gets it free. Maybe PS3 too.

I read the Gamespot article; they referenced how L4D2 had free PC DLC, but xbox paid. valve must have done something since then, because now everyone gets the Portal 2 DLC free.

I read somewhere that Team Meat found a loophole to allow free content updates to Super Meat Boy. I think Valve is doing the same now.

As far as I know the only way Microsoft allow free DLC is if it has no new achievements. Of course they may have changed this strategy but that's all the real knowledge I have to go on.

Holy crap, replaying Portal immediately before starting Portal 2 was an amazing decision. It's one thing to go through familiar areas like that from a game you've played before, but it's something else entirely to go through them having just been there. Wow. I managed to finish test chamber 11/22 in Chapter 3 before quitting for bed.

Unfortunately, quitting is where I ran into a little snag. I'm not sure if this would've happened if I hadn't tried Alt+Tabbing out of the game earlier (which produced similar results until I managed to switch back the game), but when I quit, my computer threw a fit. I got my taskbar (with corrupted graphics), and I got the bar at the top of Firefox, but the rest of the screen was stuck on the Portal 2 "do you want to quit" screen, and I couldn't get anything to do anything. I ended up having to force shutdown my computer. I sure hope that doesn't happen every time I play it.

I can confirm that.
They use Teh Internetz and used online servers to allow the free levels.

Yeah it was a good call playing portal first. I also rolled the first game straight into the 2nd and yeah, the early chambers were incredible. I went from the xbox on a 40" TV to portal2 on PC with a 19" monitor. So much sharper and the graphics were stunning, allthough I'm not sure where the benchmark is for graphics these days as i havent played stuff like Crysis and Killzone3.

Well up for some advanced chambers but i'm slightly concerned about about the challenge mode, I get this Itch, i need gold, I just HAVE to test
