Yes. They go beyond the story of the show(considering the show only has 6 episodes) I wont spoil much, but they are not at the campground anymore and they tend to explore the world a lot more than the show.

I just realised that I don't own the walking dead on dvd yet, so I might buy that too.

How much of the material from the comic books did the first series of the walking dead cover?
I can't wait for the second series to begin, which will have 13 episodes instead of 6.

Maybe the first 10 or so comics.

Closer to the first 6. The show more or less covers Volume 1: Days Gone Bye. It's a bit hard to say because the show seems to skip some events that may happen later relative to the comic's interpretation(their occurrence seems hinted at), and it also completely fabricates other events, but the RVs leave the Atlanta camp very early in Volume 2 and that's about where the show ends as well in terms of adapting comic events.

yeah the show has not really even scratched the surface of the story...

Also once again I am pleased that this will be different characters between the books and the show I really do not need the game to tell me the story of the same characters over again.. I like that we are getting a different story and different characters it just adds even more to the WD world.

Any idea when the second series will begin? It should be around October right?

Well I have received my compendium now. Considering I don't really read comic books, I'm loving it.

I am absolutely thrilled with the direction this game is heading in. It's a risk to not center the story around the characters we already know and love but if done right this game has near unlimited potential.

This is a game I'm going to very much keep my eye on.
