anyone here play the persona series?

I've been thinking of playing through the persona games (and the shin magami tensei games in general) and I was thinking of starting with persona 1 on the psp...

I've heard however that it's not really the best game in the series and doesn't really represent the series well, in fact some people go as far as to say that it's just a bad game in general...

with innocent sin coming out sometime soon for the first time in english, I was thinking that this might be the time to start playing the persona games, and it might be good to start with the original since I have no expectations for the series, but I don't know... does anyone play these games? can anyone give me any advice?

From what I've heard, that's just the PS1 version due to it being badly translated and incomplete. I've heard the PSP remake is a pretty good game.

I wish they'd have done it for PS2 as well, I don't own a PSP.

i've seen people site the main problems as lack of a great story, the fact that it's a 1st person dungeon crawler, and the fact that it's really hard...
