I enjoyed it when it first came out and I enjoy it now (though I agree Apocalypse Weekend wasn't great). It was a great little stress reliever, and as pointed out you didn't have to go around killing everyone you saw. It was silly, it was imaginative, and it had no restrictions. These days however, it's a really entertaining alternative to modern realistic shooters.

Want to set a car on fire? Want to tazer someone? Want to use a cat as a silencer? Want to piss on someone's corpse? Want to fight a thinly-disguised group of Taliban fighters? Want to engage slow-mo with catnip? Want to smash ATMs to get cash? Want to dress as a cop and beat people with a truncheon? Want to get high to restore health? Want to shoot Gary Coleman? You can do it all in Postal 2, and more.

Yes it had its flaws and yes it didn't really have a plot and yes it had an Uwe Boll movie adaptation (which is probably one of his best, believe it or not), but people still like it. Sick, twisted, demented people. Like me

What, do menial tasks? I'd hardly count that as a plot. Stuff just sort of happens.

Not saying it isn't fun, but it's the lack of a solid narrative structure that adds to the game, and inclusion of one is one of the reasons Apocalypse Weekend didn't work.

Call me a snob, but a game with a dedicated pissing button just doesn't really do it for me.

Hey, fair enough. You probably don't like Saint's Row: The Third then, with it's dedicated crotch-attack button?

Yet to play it. Bought Saints Row 2 on PC but it was pretty unplayable. SR3 has that "jumped the shark" sniff coming from it though from what i've seen. Looks to be trying far too hard.

Today's Daily Deal is ARES: Extinction Agenda - Complete Edition.
That's the original game, the Bezerker Suit DLC, and the OST for £3.05 / $4.09.

No individual discounts, it's only on the Complete Edition.

Today's Daily Deal is Sequence, a mix between a rhythm game and an RPG. £1.99 / $2.49.

Let's just say I really enjoyed this game. It can get a bit grind-y and pretentious at times, but on the whole it's a really fun twist on the rhythm genre that gives it a strategic aspect. The dialog on the whole is really clever and lots of fun, and I really found myself going back to it constantly.

It took me about 25 hours to "100%" the game, but really you can beat it in about 10-12 hours or so if you're not trying to collect everything and do every side thing.

By the way, the two trailers on the game's store page were what convinced me to buy the game in the first place. The writing in-game is a lot like the humor in those trailers, so if you like that then there's a lot to love in Sequence.

Ironically, the very same trailers were what kept me from purchasing the game, due to the way it is presented.

It basically screams "Our game is better."

As if my life isn't complete without this game. And, quite frankly, that doesn't really work for me.

But if you just buy the game you will realise that your life wasn't complete without it.

My personal opinion: I hate rhythm games. But this one works for me.

...How, exactly?

The first trailer:

-Makes fun of the concept of review scores and review-based marketing, in a self-aware jab at their own barrage of review-based marketing
-A description of the game
-A joke to say it's cheap
-A joke to say that you really don't have to hurry because there are literally infinite copies of a digital game.

In the second trailer:

-There's a joke about existentially meaningless lives early on, but that's with or without said game. That's just a nihilism joke.
-An explanation of game mechanics
-There is a jab at other rhythm games, probably specifically Guitar Hero, which would fit the "creatively bankrupt" description nicely ever since it was bought up by business types and turned into a yearly franchise that was run into the ground.
-There's a jab at people who don't know what hit points are? Is that it?
-Feature list?
-Cheap?

...I...I don't see what you're seeing at all. Not even close.

Today's Daily Deal is Just Cause 2. £4.75 / $5.09. (Not properly converted at all, but meh)

DO NOT PURCHASE IF YOU HAVE WIN XP OR OLDER. Just Cause 2 requires DirectX 10, which is only available on Windows Vista or 7. This game will literally not run on anything older.

yes, but if you do have Windows 7, get it. The island is huge, and being able to grapple stuff to other stuff makes for lots of fun.

I have it on PS3. That game is awesome. I've never finished it just because I get sidetracked doing fun stupid stuff like grappling people to cars and dragging them around. The story is pretty lame, the dialogue is pretty lame, the characters are lame....but the game is fun as hell if you're the kind of player that plays GTA just to mess shit up.

Edit: Okay, the people to cars thing was just an example. I'm not that morbid to get my kicks from doing that. The most fun thing I found was either tethering two explosives together to make them fly around or to try and drag stuff too heavy for a plane off a cliff. There are many many videos of this stuff on youtube.
