Deus Ex HR, Portal 2 and Shogun? That are 3 games I can play now that my BIOS updated. This must be a bad omen.

For PC games, that would be paused and minimized. I wouldn't leave a game running paused and the active program in fullscreen for hours unless I was otherwise distracted by something and forgot. However, I have frequently Alt-Tabbed to another application (like Firefox, to read these forums) and left the game running in the background for a long time. So my power settings do turn my monitor off after a time.

Come to think of it, I don't know if the video card is constantly thinking about programs that are minimized. Also, I run most games in windowed mode if possible so I don't think that would prevent my power settings from turning the monitor off.

Basically, leaving games running paused forever, yes I do that. Leaving a TV or monitor on forever for a pause screen to cause potential burn-in, no I don't do that.

Ah. Alt-Tabbing. Another thing I'm afraid of

. Not because I fear damage, but because I've had a bad history of crashing and freezing when alt-tabbing from games. I just don't do it anymore, even though my machine is now a beast and can probably handle it. It's just habit. Which is why I love Steam's in-game UI. And I hate playing games in Window mode. I'm forced to, however, for ScummVM and a few other apps.

The reason why I play games in window mode is because I have a (larger) TV connected as a second monitor--its native resolution is 1280x720. Without assigning it as the primary monitor (which moves the taskbar and icons), I can still make a game fill my TV screen by dragging a windowed 1280x720 game over to it.

(notice the black area below the game screen indicating a smaller resolution; and the partial window border on the right side of the desktop area and the very top of the game screen, indicating windowed mode)

I've heard good things about the humor in the game, and the main character is voiced by Cary Elwes, so I figure why not.

Did anyone else get a coupon for Assassin's Creed: Revelations for 50%? So can get it for 25 bucks. Not sure if I want to spend the money though. I loved the first Assassin's Creed, but I hate the second one.

Revelations is just more of AC2, same with Brotherhood.

And we are opposite on that. I hate AC1, but love AC2.

It's a very good game on the DS, if occasionally infuriatingly luck-based in the later levels. Never tried the PC version.

Also, it decided to give me two 50% off coupons for AC:Revelations for some reason, so if someone feels the need to play it and didn't get a coupon, PM me and I'll send you one.

I'm not going to use it. It's nowhere near the same as the core Might and Magic series, nor Heroes of Might and Magic, so I'm not interested.
