I was thinking more this one.

Adorable outfit! I remember when I was a kid and dressed up as Link. Of course, this was in the 80's, and the cartoon was around...so it was more "Excuuuuuuuse me, princess!" than "HYAA!" My grandpa even made me a wooden sword that looked like the one from the show. I was so sad when the cross-guard broke.

There.... I am aware of little things we got wrong.. but he is pretty happy with the outcome... he was jumping around outside for a while in costume.. it was funny.

Download this sound onto your mobile phone or something and play it every single time he gets some Trick or Treat candy.

The tunic is way too light-green, it needs a darker shade. The color on the shield is also a bit off since you seem to to go for the Hylian Shield design by the look of the symbols.
The boots are too simplistic; they don't look at all like the traditional leather boots, and the costume also needs gauntlets, an arrow quiver and a sheath for the sword.

Like this:

Other than that the costume looks adequate though.

He isnt supposed to be the Twilight Princess Link... he is the Wind Waker Link or Toon Link as he is known sometimes.... Its the Link he is photoshopped standing next to in the last picture I posted.

Wow. That's a pretty way over the top level of nitpicking for a young kid's Halloween costume. The man's not designing clothing for Zelda the Movie or anything, yeesh.

It's an awesome costume and far cooler then anything my parents made for me to wear as a kid.

The costume is all right and will probably do the job, but I'm under no obligation to give positive feedback if it's not warranted. If you don't want criticism, then that should be stated in the OP to begin with.
I'm merely saying that if I were making a Link costume, then I'd do it properly.

I totally agree with your criticism if I was aiming for the Twilight Princess Link..

The Shield we did stray the most on... you are right about that... but no we were not going for the Hylian shield there either.. we were going for this one its the Hero's Shield

and then half way through decided to make our own design.. because afterall Link has had so many ... the Hylian Shield is just the one everyone thinks of first

The Sword is based off the Hero's Sword.. (not the master sword)

and of course the outfit was as close to the Hero of Wind (wind waker) as our abilities could get us.

The main reason we picked Wind Waker link was because my son Likes him in Smash Bros and the DS games... and two I knew there was no way we could pull off Ocarina of time Link (Hero of time) or Twilight Princess Link (Hero of being right handed).

I do not mind criticism its OK.. after all if I get some decent ideas out of it I still have time to implement them. Caeska may not be familiar with Toon Link and I do not believe they were trying to be mean.

I like how he tries to say that you should have a quiver for arrows when Link's quiver is never actually seen. Like everything else Link carries, he sticks it in a pouch. :P

Toon Link or classic Link are really the best choices for a kid's Halloween Costume. Simpler detailing, easier to work with.

He's absolutely right, not trying to be mean at all. I didn't recognize the shield honestly, but now I do remember the Hero's Shield from somewhere.
I've played Wind Waker a couple of times, but not the biggest fan of Toon Link though I am familiar with him.

Wow, awesome work Irishmile!
Your son looks really happy with it.
When I see these kind of pics I wonder if I'll ever have a son to do these things with.

I hope you live in a part of the world where this stuff gets accepted.
I remember dressing up as Link when I was fourteen, when the dutch Holiday "Carnaval" was going on. People just laughed at me, and thought I was a nerd, being dressed as a video game character.
I did wear the Ocarina of Time outfit though, although it wasn't as good a match as your Wind Waker outfit.
(No, I don't have any photo's of it.)

Not that it matters much considering how little the direction of your swipes with the remote mattered in Twilight Princess.
