Bobber, there's an edit button under every post you make. If you want to remove something, use it. But think wisely about what you write in the first place. Thanks!

You can. It's called editing the post.

I think it all depends on Bill Murray at this point. I think they could come up with a reason for Venkman not to be there, but I think the studio would want him on board or else.

I'd pinch your silly cheeks for that, bobber. Though I too think franchise itself is best as a duology, and the videogame did good enough to honor it after some time. I've had my Ghostbusters meal for the time being.

I really don't see why they shouldn't make a Ghostbusters 3. Ghostbusters is a very famous series and people will flock to go see it if the orginal cast was back. And even if the third one doesn't do as well as the others.... so what? It's not like making a new movie would ruin the first one. The first one will still be as great as it is now.

Not only that but the new generation of people who haven't seen Ghostbusters will see that part 3 is coming out and will want to watch the original first. So in a way, it would really only help the series if they made another one. You know, I have a friend who had never seen Ghostbusters. It took that scene in Zombieland for him to finally watch it. And yep, he enjoyed it.

In any case, A part 3 would be worlds better of an idea than a remake.

If only Lonnie were still here to spout off a couple of those classic "everything new is automatically crap" lines. Those were the days...

I'm fully behind making another Ghostbusters 3. I'm not confident it would be good, though, I suspect any script that they actually manage to convince Bill Murray to do probably would HAVE to be pretty good. But yeah. I'd give it a shot. Everyone says Ghostbusters 2 isn't as good as the original, and I agree, but I still love it. It's still got some great lines.

Def, Ghostbuster 2's great fun, and that's what's important!

Hey! The original brother bear is an amazing film!

Moranis is coming out of retirement for Ghostbusters III. Wonder if he'd consider doing acting again after this is done.

Wasn't that role reserved for Gordon-Levitt? Seriously, that guy has to get more roles.

/edit: Just researched a little: Nope, Gordon-Levitt plays "a cop". That cop however could turn out to be anyone.

On Rick Moranis: I really want to see more of him in modern movies. He's 58 now, but what the heck?

He retired in 97 after his wife died of liver cancer.

His wife died in 1991, and he still acted after that. It's still connected as he explained, as being a single Dad and the demands to an actor are hard to combine. Still, is it official that he's coming out of retirement for GBIII? All I heard is rumors.

I haven't heard anything official about it, and I don't expect him to. He didn't come out to rejoin most of the cast for the game(hence why his computer constantly has a note saying "Went home sick" on it), so I don't think he'd come back for the movie. Assuming the movie gets made.

That note on the computer was probably a way of teasing him to get back in action. Maybe he's up for a short cameo. But I think the writing process he was involved in back then was what made these movies fun for him, and that definitely goes on without him at the time.
