how in the world do you open that display case

It's immune to immense heat, and crushing force. What about both at the same time?
The solution may not be far from where you got it
Put it under the lunar lander, then figure out how to launch it

I already knew about the lander, but how the heck do I get inside?

Sam notices that the lunar lander has an old lock, like the kind cars used to have where you have to pull up! Now what would fit down in there around that lock and pull it up? Something that makes me upset if Sam moves it because it keeps me from watching the 33rd annual cockroach circus!

Remember: the case is virtualy indisructible! so nothing but imense heat will open it! so were do you get imense heat easy the lunar lander engine! to get the lander working you need to go inside it heres how you get inside (in spoiler lines just incase) Get the coat hanger from Sam and Max's office TV. go back to the moon. place the display case under the lander (if you do it before you leave you just need to do the feeding the case to Max thing again) open the lander with the hanger you go inside Sam will pick up the key (trust me you'll need it against Huagh Bliss) and take off then the spoon will come out of the case and there you go that realy it
