First off...I'm not a noob (in life or games). So far I have gold on all scenarios except the last one in E1.

Possible spoilers below:
Overall, I had no issues with the entire last scenario (#12) of the TX showdown. The only QTE I cannot achieve is the one where all three exit to the roof and Harding's daughter (I already forgot her name.) falls of the ledge on the roof. Harding then has to go down the scaffolding on the side of the building. The QTE that I cannot get is the one when he is jumping down from scaffolding (not the one when jumping from roof.)

I tried the scene at least 10 times...and it definitely felt bugged to me in comparison to no missed QTEs for the episode.

Not really a huge deal but I do like the look of gold...

BTW, I'm using steam version.

I have the same problem as you described.
I'm using Steam too.

Are you playing with a gamepad, or using keyboard/mouse?

I tried holding the keys down, pressing fast, but the result is always the same "fail"

I figured out how to solve that :

Go to "menu>graphics" low all graphics, then reload the saved game. "it reduces the timing issue." Now you'll be able to push the button.

My video card: (ATI HD 5770)
Resolution: 1440x900
Catalyst Version: 11.11

Im having the same problem. Im using keyboard/mouse but not using the steam version
