I would suggest to developers on Kickstarter that they might want to consider wearing collared shirts, at least, in their pitch videos. I think it would give them a more professional image. Of course, many may be going for a casual look, but I have just been surprised to see several show up wearing t-shirts, even as they are asking for hundreds of thousands of dollars. Seems like a show of respect to at least wear a nicer shirt. If you're really well known I think you can get away with wearing anything, and of course your work should speak for itself, but putting forward a professional image certainly can't hurt, in many cases.

It's the old adage:

People will only give you money if you look like you have a lot already or have none.

Also, it helps to avoid statements referring to the product as already made. It just looks like you're selling through Kickstarter at that point and pisses off a lot of the website regulars and entrepreneurs.

To Vainamoinen:

I see. But isn't that more like Yaoi?

Poyaoito, potahto.

In this semantic field, I refuse to gather expertise in nomenclature.

Can there be anyone with less luck at kickstarters than Tom Hall?!?

This is his second project in a row which fails big time. And this time, I even have to wonder why... nice idea, reasonable goal... pas de supporters.

Well as many people pointed out, it's a poor Little Big Planet.

Black Saturday for the Dreamfall kickstarter yesterday.

Looks like a bunch of idiots have "withdrawn" their high pledges. Kicktraq counts a raise of a mere 3.700$ total yesterday, but at times, yesterday's counter was even negative.

This 'withdraw' nonsense has got to be abolished. Withdrawing pledges, that is something for indecisive children. I mean, what does "pledge" mean anyway.

Oh, it definitely is. Still, it's not as if PC players ever had a Little Big Planet to begin with; and after all, kickstarters work through name dropping just as much as the suggestion of an interesting project. Tom Hall's name should carry a bit more weight than that. Poor guy.

I get you. I just wonder how popular Commander Keen really was, and remains. You hear the names of Guybrush and King Graham because they've been kept alive over the years. Keen not as much.

Same for me. In fact, I only ever encountered Hall's name in connection with Anachronox. And a game in the same vein is about the only project of his that I'd personally back. (A direct Anachronox sequel is almost impossible as Tom doesn't have the rights; and needless, as in my opinion the original only ever needed another fourth or fifth to make a satisfying ending. An extended REMAKE, that'd be the dream).

Got an account and funded it.

I can't wait to get the shorts collection. It's been so long since I've had an internal debate about the gender of Mr. B Natural.

Red Thread games is spreading more Chapters kickstarter awareness by asking you to vote for the inclusion of the game on gog.com (and, for those of you with the inclination, apparently Steam also has a place for you to decide which games they'd like to sell).

So, Wasteland 2 isn't even out yet, and inXile is Kickstarting their next project. It's their Planescape: Torment spiritual successor, Torment: Tides of Numenera. The goal is set for $900,000.
