Can anyone provide info as to the copy protection TJD uses with that indie bundle?

All Indie Royale games, other than the ones that are ONLY available on Steam or Desura, are DRM-free.

Example easily visible on the page: Serious Sam 2 just says "for: steam(pc)", while Journey Down says "for: windows, mac, linux, desura". This means there are DRM-free direct downloads for Journey Down from the bundle page, while Serious Sam 2 only offers a Steam code.

Hey, that was quite nice!

Very short, but designed with a lot of thought. No pixel hunting, good perspective with a clear layout and not too much depth, characters do not feel like "obstacles" too much. The animators never took the cheap way out - actions of main character Bwana are normally performed in plain sight and are quite big; it helps a lot with the immersion (modern adventure makers keep forgetting that).

I first thought of the "African mask" theme as a cheapo variation of the Grim Fandango paradigm. It really isn't. There's quite an interesting application of facial expression in there, which is all the more visible as you don't expect it from those masks.

The whole atmosphere of the game did remind me of Grim Fandango, but in a good way. The masks on the other hand reminded me more of The Dream Machine (that and TDJ are, in my view, two recent adventure games that have really managed to capture the genius of Grim, perhaps even starting something of a renaissance of the adventure genre).

For those still on the fence about getting this game, it is currently on sale at The Adventure Game Shop.

And everywhere else, it seems. Thanks to Steam Sale shenanigans(and also a new mouse, and also Otakon in a couple weeks), I can't really afford it anyway. =P

Nope, that's not a sale. As the developers put it on their blog,
