I've been watching this thread for a long time now and really didn't see the need to pile on but after noticing that TTG changed their FAQ wording in the last couple days from "..releasing once per month" to "..releasing approximately once per month" I have to say that's just slimey.

TTG are the ones who set the agreement that if we pay them, they will in return provide us with a new episode. For anyone who says, "things happen", you're right they do and TTG decided it was a better idea to hide in their shell like a little turtle than give a reason why they broke their own agreement with everyone who paid up front for the game. Again, the big part of that being that TTG set the agreement. A monthly release was not some arbitrary amount of time that went by before people complained, this was the range of time that was set by TTG. I know there really isn't anything I can do about other than to speak with my wallet and tell every single person I know who games to avoid TTG. So that's my plan.

Agree, so they have time to change the wording but no time to explain to customers why they haven't got there game thats more than slimey

It's the more recent move with all game companies it seems, that lack of transparency is better then the user knowing. Think about it - who really wants to own up to the "we didn't get it finished on time" deadline.

On the flip side, look at some of the games that were rushed for deadlines. Ultima 8? Buggy as bloody hell, unbalanced and generally broken game. That's the flip side of pushing to meet deadlines, if the stuff isn't there, it just isn't there.

We, the consumer, have allowed this to become the standard. Companies like Blizzard(I love their games, but they suck at commitments) and Valve(When will half life 3(Or the next episode) finally come out?) have learned that the fan-base will wait and stand broken promises and commitments, just because they like the product.

We the consumer have supported this blatant disregard in supporting a distribution method that relies on this. We have as much blame as they do.

In summary - don't like it? Don't support them. I choose to bite the bullet and wait.

I don't see how I hold any of the blame for them not meeting the deadlines they set for themselves and then put out as their business agreement for purchase of this game. Are you implying that I am to blame because I trusted that TTG were going to honor their agreement?

And why do people keep bringing up "don't wanna rush the game"? No one wants them to rush the game through development. But that goes right back to a basic point - there has been no communication. A little communication goes miles towards good customer service.

Biting the bullet and waiting.. now that seems like part of the problem.

I am excited for the episode 2 release but am willing to wait till it is done. I'd rather wait a little longer for a release that has little to no bugs than a fast bug filled release.

All of you that are still pissed off at Telltale the best thing that you could do would be to support Project Zomboid. After all, at least you know that if you buy Project Zomboid (for a meager $8) that you are supporting some indie developers and fueling their passion for creating a game.

I've looked at Zomboid.
I would rather pay $25 for The Walking Dead and wait for each episode than spend $8 for that junk game. just my opinion!

A video game release delay doesn't sound like a fiasco to me. I am more than happy to wait as long as it takes if it means a more polished product.

The fiasco centers more around the lies. "Monthly" releases.

I'm not upset about the delay. It's reasonable for a small company like Telltale to be overwhelmed with work on occasion. (Especially so while needing to prepare for the E3 expo.)

However, I am disappointed about the way this situation was handled. From what I gathered, the company changed the approximated release date from August to June with no explanation. If the company announced 'we found a game breaking bug... want to make a positive impact at E3... now changing the date...' somewhere then I feel like (some) fans would be more understanding and less angry.

Hopefully Telltale has learnt from the experience. Am looking forward to the next episode. c:

Also I found this information interesting. (Found in The Walking Dead FAQ on the Telltale website.)

'Why is this game episodic? What does that mean?

We have plans for 5 episodes, releasing approximately once per month.'

Unfortunately we are not guaranteed a monthly episode release. We can only expect a monthly episode release. I wish the angrier fans of Telltale from Facebook would understand this concept. :P

Tiny font is like whispering in a room full of loud people.

Anyway i'd reccomend Donating to the Modest Medusa Season 2 Kickstarter if you really want to see a long wait after paying 25 dollars or more.

Also Go play Bureau Agent Kendall and Bureau Shattered Slipper on Xbox Live Indie Games.

I have this feeling that Telltale is gonna want more money. They're trying to come up with a way to soak us for a little more cash.

I'd pay for new "Skins" in TWDG. Dress Lee, Clementine, and others in extra outfits.
