Default Thought you couldn't die in Telltale games?

I got killed at the beginning of the game after un cuffing myself.

And then the game froze. Playing on a Mac Mini 2011.

Already I don't like this game.

If this is what to except from Telltale from now on I am never again going to buy again.

74 posts and you come out with that ?

look at the guide / help section if you stuck instead of blaming the game...

as for a freeze that could mean just about anything like your mac is faulty or you downloaded the pc version by mistake, or the game files have a corruption try a new instal of the game and or check your 'spec' meets the minimum requirements...

I'll jump in. You CAN die in TWD; there's actually a thread where people recount how many ways you can do it (some of which are quite funny and at least one give you a little extra backstory). But TWD doesn't penalize you that heavily for death, you start the scene again.

As for freezing, TWD wasn't designed to run on Mac Mini computers if i remember correctly- but I'm a mod and not staff so I will let them chime in on that one.

EDIT: Yeah, it's not designed to run on a Mac Mini, as per the Store page.

A game challenged you by putting you into a situation where there is punishment for failure...

Wow... Leave it to TTG to bring forth these new innovate idea's for gaming!

*above is sarcasm*

Seriously though... if you have a problem with dying because you failed... then I guess your the one to blame for games becoming so ridiculously easy that babies can play them.

Guess I am just used to games like Sam and Max, Strong Bad, Hector where you can not die.

Dying isn't a bad thing it is actually a challenge I think you should try it again, and if you die just restart. Once you get over the slight setback the game is fun.

The checkpoints are very forgiving. You die, meh. Just try again.
Remember the old Sierra adventure games? Now, that was brutal. You're just dead, for no reason. Oh, and they let you continue even if you missed a little pixel of an object. You go ahead on your merry little way and find yourself stuck! Oh, and sometimes you can't even go back and get what you missed because the way is now blocked. Arrrrrrghhh!

The walking dead is a cakewalk, and yes I did die a few times. Sometimes it was even deliberate. Do NOT give up. This game is more than worth it. Trust me.

you do realize this is a zombie game, don't you? And you're surprised that you can die?

"Death" is rather short-lived in the Walking dead game, if you'll allow the pun.

You die, you click continue and you're repeating the action scene immediately. There have been death scenes in Telltale's games before - not only in Jurassic Park, but also in the "Tomb of Sammun-Mak" (S&M Season 3, ep 2) without many people taking notice.

LOL why complain? Some of the death scenes are hilarious. I found myself deliberately failing an action scene, just to see the death scene.

Little tip - pick up the shotgun shell on the ground before going over to the police officer to uncuff yourself. It should save you a couple of seconds when he comes after you.

personally, I would be disappointed if we couldnt die in a zombie apoc game. that would so take away from the suspence and realism.

yeah you can die in jurassic park.... i got slaughtered haha!

...and come on really? What did you expect? Its the walking dead game, not bridge with your grandma... Not having the possibility of dying in a zombie game would pretty much defeat the purpose of the game. It is the zombie apocalypse afterall.

So you expected that a zombie cornering you wouldn't kill you and just sit there? And then blame telltale because a computer under the system specs couldn't run the game? Interesting thought process.

+1 Quest for Glory and Dagger of Amon Ra are two of my favorite games of all time. With DoAR(Laura Bow 2), if you didn't see almost everything possible in the game, and answer every question right at the very end, you still died after you beat the game! Random deaths, braincrunching puzzles and hours of time lost are a staple of adventure games. Just be glad TellTale is fixing some of the problems.
