Default Phantasmagoria

How do you all feel about Sierra's classic horror game, Phantasmagoria?

It's craptacular!

I have a soft spot for the craptastic sequel though. It's kind of like one of those god awful made-for-TV horror films that you see on some dodgy cable channel. It's so bad, it's good!

I like how you spend a large portion of the game doing absolutely nothing interesting.

Its very slow to get going, and I spent way too much time doing stupid things to keep me sane.

(I must have sat on the same chair about 20 times! XD)

I need to get back to playing it though. I never got close to beating it, and I'm curious at how ridiculous it gets.

You mean you spent a large portion doing nothing.

I've played the game and beat it, and I thought it was pretty good.

The only thing I didn't like so much back when I got it was that it was on 7 CDs.

I love both games. As Retro mentioned youz do have a normal movie build up though. You know the build up of good movies where you get to know the characters and start to like them so that the things they do to them later on have a larger impact on you. Not like modern movies where you cheer for the killer to come and get those asshole sobs.

Both games are playing out like movies and puzzles are somewhat limited (Phantasmagoria has a lot more of them than Phantasmagoria 2.
If you are really interested watch Spoony's phantastic Let's Play of the second game which has less puzzles but is a lot more on the mad side of gaming.

I used to own Phantasmagoria, but my ex-girlfriend ran off with it.

I'd kill the b****.
Or just get a new copy online. From that store I hate so much.

Why do you hate GOG? Because "buying a digital copy is actually a 'rental'"?

To be perfectly honest, I hate messing with physical copies (for PC) now. Even before I knew about GOG or Steam, I still ripped most of my physical copies of PC games to ISO.

Also, I one day (perhaps very soon) see game consoles primarily using digital downloads for new games rather than being disc-based.
