Default Australia passes R18+ rating for games

Australia has finally brought in an R18+ rating for games, so now Telltale can release The Walking Dead on consoles down here. Just sayn'.

Sorry to disappoint, but our laws typically don't come into force until the 1st of Jan the year after they get passed, so there won't be any R-rated games until next year.

Nothing has changed...yet.

Of all the things to censor... zombie games?

If kids don't learn about zombies from parents, books, comics, and video games, they'll learn it on the street... from zombies. And we know how that turns out.

Zombie Novel Recommendations:
- Jesse Petersen's "Living with the Dead" series (comedic series)
- Mira Grant's "Newsflesh" trilogy (zombies are the cure for the common cold)
- Jonathan Maberry's Rot & Ruin (think the Walking Dead plus 15 years)
- Peter Clines's Ex-Heroes (What Marvel Zombies should have been)

Well this doesn 't affect me for TWD as I just used my USA PSN account to download it. Screw the ratings system.

But am glad this R rating is in effect so we won't get a censored GTA 5!

Exactly.

Although with the delays that TTG have with Episode 2, we'll probably get the whole game at the same time as the rest of the world gets Episode 5.

Then again. With TTGs track record in communication the department responsible for getting ratings will forget to the game submitted.
