Spoilers! Why was the Episode 2 preview so different from the actual Episode 2??? [SPOILERS]

hey folks - ever since i played through episode 2 i wondered, why there where so much scenes in the preview after episode 1 that didn't actually happen in episode 2.

for example:
Carly never gave Lee the energy bar.
Lee talked in the prev. with clem in the motor-inn - she had still her hat on an larry watched them with suspicion
katjaa never thanked my lee for saving duck at the farm
in the preview lee shot some zombies with a rifle - never happened

there are some more scenes - but this should do it for now.
me and some people i know where pretty surprised with that and felt, we played partially a whole other episode than teased in the preview.

isnt the whole sense of a preview to show what happens next, and not to give the player some ideas the developers might have.

i hope telltale will fix these issues and take more care in the future.

To Not spoil the actual game for you. Your Welcome. For example episode 4 shows kenny lee and the guy/girl from episode 3 preview in purple fighting zombies in a sewer {Milo will snapshot it later im sure and confirm gender but i digress. }The point is Kenny could die before episode 4 or purple might but its there as an idea that they will be in a sewer at some point. Try complaining if they dont include a train in episode 3

this argument is really bad.
i mean with this logic - it would be okay for example if u let doug die in ep1 he still appears in the preview after that instead of carly because its an idea that he could be in ep2 - wtf?!
or if in TOMI in the summary in the beginning of every episode they would have shown parts, that weren't in the previouse episode - everybody would have been confused and maybe a bit angry.
but because in TWD its in a preview for an upcomming game it suddendly is legit? sorry that sounds not right for me.
furthermore i don't complain about the "episode-title-cards" but actual gameplay.

ttg wants to tell games like tv-shows in seasons with episodes. i can't remember any series that shows things that never happened no mather if it was in a preview or in a summary at the beginnig.
it's a simple and basic rule.

and i'm not a typicle complainer - for example i never cryed about any release that - but this one is just...awkward.
especially when i thought it would make a differents, that i gave carly an energy bar - but it actually got ignored by the game. that made me quite disappointed.

she doesnt offer lee the energy bar - and i mean how cool would that have been - u have just 4 meals but then all of the sudden u get a fifth one from carly. missed chance - sadly.

The preview isn't going to show someone that has died in your game. That was apparent when in both of my playthroughs, whoever I let live was the person in the trailer.

Actually you're wrong about that. There are times where a preview shows something that doesn't actually happen. Paranormal Activity 3 had quite a few things in the trailer that didn't show up in the actual movie. (ex. The girl saying "he's standing right next to you" and then throws the water on the demon to show he's there)

And the whole point with the food is you can't feed everyone. No reason to make that easier for you.

3 Months have passed, some things that were in the trailer could potentially have happened in those 3 months, e.g. Meeting up with Mark...

Default it happens

if you def. give carley crackers and cheese rofl it starts the convo as in the trailer, but she doesnt give a candy bar.

i mean..its not a big deal but i see what you mean. this happened as well in the BTTF games, the trailer didnt necessarily match up with the game, its just to give an idea of what to expect.

Keep in mind too that there was still significant development work to do on Episode 2 when Episode 1 was released -- it's very possible that events envisioned and originally scripted were trimmed and streamlined as the episode took shape. The "previously on" intro for Episode 2 seemed accurate based on Episode 1, but Episode 2 was not nearly complete when Ep 1 came out. It's not like a movie or TV show where what's been filmed is fixed in stone -- bring the actors back in to record new lines, change the choreography and/or set, and you have a very different result that can be tweaked (thanks to digital distribution) pretty late in the game.

I think it would be great if the previews were completely inaccurate. Imagine finishing Episode 3 and then it goes to the "Next time on the walking dead ... the group gets kidnapped by ALIENS!"

Imagine the outcry on the forums. :-)

But yeah I kind of assumed a lot of the things at end of the episode 1 preview were supposed to happen in the intervening 3 months. Bonus content, then, since we never experience it during the actual episode. I wish they had a lot more of it to bridge the gap, honestly.
