Is Larry racist or was that a lie Lee told?

at the beginning of episode 2 when you talk to mark about larry you can say:

He thinks I'm dangerous
He's just looking out for his daughter
He's a racist

Do you think the last one is a lie?

Its a lie. He hates Lee because he knows he is a convicted murderer. Larry flat out admits that in episode 1.

I guess it was a lie, though mostly just a way of redirecting the question and also taking a jab at Larry. Lee knows that the real reason Larry doesn't like him is because he knows about Lee's past as a convicted murderer. (And, you probably didn't take his side when he wanted to kick Duck out of the drugstore).

It's a lie. "He's a racist" was a false option to say to Mark. I'm sure that Lee didn't feel like he was actually a racist.

Larry denies that's what his issue with Lee is... Now tell me, does Larry seem like the kind of guy to deny something just to maintain appearances? use your head dude.

It is a lie. Larry admitted why he dislikes Lee and its a valid reason. No racism involved, that is just a lie for "jerk" Lee to make himself look like the good guy.
EDIT:Besides that, Larry has shown a hatred for just about... everyone! Race doesn't seem to be the issue there. Plus he showed that he does care for Clem. who is also African-America. If he was racist, he would hate her as well.

i think he would, he is ex military, so he would be used to maintaining appearances, he is just keeping the convicted murderer part in the bag if he ever needed to legitimise his hate

If you're racist, Children count. They count enough for him to not say "If anything happens to my daughter, or that little girl you have with you" Clem isn't Black though, she's clearly Mixed. With what, well: African American and ??? is all we can really tell.

good point, but racism is irrational and i know of some racist people who would like black athletes or sportsmen because they played for their team or country, but would otherwise be total racists and justify it to themselves by saying its just the team or country they like, maybe he just likes that clementine is something he can hold over lee if he ever wanted to

I think we are being to narrow in our thinking.

The option to say Larry is a racist is not a "lie" it is how you as the player feel. When you pick the option Larry says

"Oh so is that what you think this is?"

And that's about as far as he goes denying it.

It's up to the player to decide if they feel Larry is being racist or not. But I don't think the option was placed there as a "truth or lie" option.

I once chose that option to say he was a racist, and later when Larry confronted me about it and I said yes that's what I said he said something along the lines of "And what are you going to do about it?". So yes, well the guy is an old white asshole. Racisms might not be the only reason but I would certainly no be suprised if he didn't like black people in general.

I still don't think so... I didn't get a real Racist vibe from him, an asshole vibe, sure. But hell, I got more of a racist vibe from Kenny! (Before ep 2 even)

Because of the treatment of Lee at the hands of Larry.

I understand that in America no "American" can be racist unless they have a hood over their heads but still...if the player felt it was a valid choice how is that a lie?

So if the choice is just a lie, then why is it specifically there and not some other answer? Someone had to think it was a valid assumption or believable to some degree. Just like the choices to lie to Hershel, they had to be valid to some degree in believability.

So one could draw the conclusion that from Larry's treatment of Lee is rooted in bigotry. It is a valid assumption to make. There is this aggressive old southern white man giving the lone black a hard time, and calling him "boy" to boot. One could reasonable infer...
