I had that problem as well. The solution I found was to go to a different planet, save the game, then quit. Return to the game, go back to Dobbo (the one where the achievement is) and try it again. First time I did that, it popped once I'd killed the last enemy.

Oh hey, it's good we have a thread dedicated to Ratchet and Clank, because now I have an appropriate theater to describe how the second game in the PS3 Trilogy has just gone and completely fucked up and I can't find any information about it so I basically will have to start the entire game all over again despite having already finished it once.

So I was on Challenge mode and was replaying the challenges in the first level you're in a spaceship when a message popped up on screen saying 'unavailable'. I had no idea what that meant at the time, but when I landed on the next planet and tried to access my weapons, half of them were missing, replaced with one of those circular traffic signs with a red line crossing out a picture.

'Odd', I thought. 'What happens if I try to select it?'.

It crashed the game.

And that's it. Like I say, I can't find any information about this glitch on the net and I hadn't backed up my save game (why would I need to?), so the past week's worth of effort playing this game has now been completely wasted because I have no other option but to delete the save game and restart the game from scratch.

The next paragraph is going to be me swearing profusely, which is why I've spoilered it. Just so you know.

I never got that glitch and i'm sorry you lost all that time. I'm not joking ether because this game is really really glitchy as i'm sure most of you who have played it knows. Darth i hope you can find a way to fix your save and i hope R&C 3 won't do this glitch to you. Now i want you to watch AVGN for a few hours so you can see that The Nerd has to go through this kind of stuff too and (This was a joke i really am sorry this happened to you Darth.)

IT FUCKING DID IT AGAIN.

It wasn't even on Challenge Mode this time round, it was during normal gameplay. I'd just got the Moon Stone guy to move the rock and as soon as I entered the mines, <unavailable>. I turned the PS3 off in an attempt to stop the save corrupting, but no dice. As soon as I load the save and land on the planet, the game locks up.

This is absolute bullshit and it's such a gamebreaker - it's happened twice and I've now lost around two weeks of work - that I'm giving up. Fuck this game, fuck this trilogy and fuck Idol Minds. FUCK EVERYTHING.

This is NOT what I need now given my emotional state. The kicker is I still have no idea why it's done it. Maybe if you play the game for too long it screws up? For fuck's sake.

Yes it does as it makes up for you guys getting the Jak & Daxter trilogy early! I just hope they did more playtesting this time because our Ratchet & Clank trilogy is very glitchy. People have even made videos on youtube saying all the problems in the trilogy. In my opinion the best video on youtube showing all the problems is the many problems of the Ratchet & Clank trilogy.

I'm tempted to play them but, if memory serves, the original R&C games were long & now there's trophies to focus on? O.o that aside, could I really pass up a chance to shoot chickens out of a gun again

The original games are about as long as Tools of Destruction, so...

It's also worth noting there's no real lock-on system in the very first game (the thing that lets you sidestep while shooting enemies, basically), which makes the shooting feel much less focused. You do get something resembling one eventually once Clank gets his rocket pack, but it's flaky.

The majority of the trophies are the same as the skill points though, so that shouldn't be much of an issue.

Oh ok. Spy is tied with Pyro & Engineer as my favorite class.

Also Joker i would say pick up the Ratchet & Clank trilogy but be careful because there is loads of glitches that were not in the PS3 version. Just ask Darth as he has come across gamebreaking glitches.

Yeah, pain in the ass if/when that happens. If you get a 'unavailable' message, your save is fried. When you get to the second game, make sure you have two saves that you keep switching between. It's what I've done on my third playthrough and it hasn't screwed up a third time (touch wood), so here's hoping it stays going like this.

Other (much more minor) glitches I've noticed:
- On the Ice Planet with the crystals, Ratchet turned invisible. The suit stayed, but the Lombax inside wasn't there. When it happened, I didn't take any damage though, so that was awesome.
- Enemy corpses stick around when they should fade. I've had this one happen a couple of times.
- Music sometimes doesn't play when it should. Makes the levels feel very empty, oddly enough.

Those ones are minor though.

I got a glitch in Ratchet & Clank 3 that made me have to start over. I got to the part where you fight Captain Qwark after the path of death (I think that's the name.) The Quick Select didn't pause the game and it was harder to play since everytime you tried to switch a gun there were enemies attacking you during boss fights so i started over again. Also if you want to see other glitches people encountered check out that video i mentioned on youtube that shows piles of glitches in the game.
