Agreed. Like he said, he doesn't want to run the character into the ground, and the easiest way to do that is to keep throwing out the same thing week after week. I sure wouldn't want the Nostalgia Critic to become like the Simpsons, old and tired. And he said it's NOT the end forever, but the Critic won't be back in the same way. And I certainly wouldn't expect him to show up any time soon.
As for how To Boldly Flee stood up? I enjoyed it, but at the same time, I wish it were a bit more original. I mean, yes, Kickassia and Suburban Knights had their share of references, but To Boldly Flee went way overboard. I still enjoyed it, and Doug made an excellent Zod, but definitely the weaker of the specials. Much prefer Kickassia. Plus the Critic decked out like M. Bison was awesome.
Oh, and I think that it should've ended with the Critic's full catchphrase, as well as Sad Panda's song since this was goodbye to the Critic.
