Default Lee's Family

This may have already been discussed, but I couldn't see anything on it. It seems that the general consensus is that Lee's family are dead. Am I missing something that did confirm this? If I am, then I do apologise for asking the question.

As far as I can see though, we know Lee's brother was infected and somehow came to be trapped under what I think was a telephone pole. We see a lot of blood in the back office, and clear signs of struggle. But couldn't this blood be Lee's brother's blood? Maybe he came to his parents rescue, and they managed to escape? I think Lee actually says something along the lines of "If you were here, I figure you died to saved them. I've gotta assume that's what happened." (This obviously isn't word for word, but this was the gist.)

So, providing I'm not missing something, what effect could this have on Lee in later episodes should we encounter them? We may not, and probably won't, get further clarification on this -but it would be interesting if there was a decision to choose between Clem and his family. His responsibility to Clem against the guilt of not being there for his parents and indeed his brother. Not sure how I would handle such a choice.

Thoughts?

Do you recall the back room with the tv. The room were carley confronted lee about his past?

The room that lead to the locked medicine door?

In that room is a bed with blood stains on it. Also one of the group says that they found two bodies in that room and that they had to take them out back.

It is said in passing, and Lee plays it off so as not to make it known that it was his family.

Also..Lee can "examine" the stain and he says out loud what he thought happened to his parents.

I do recall all of that, but it isn't exactly hard evidence. The bodies could have been anyone. Granted, most likely the bodies were those of Lee's parents, but at this point - who knows? I appreciate the input!

When you examine the bloody mattress he'll say something along the lines of imagining his father protecting his mom. But the real clue to what happened is when someone (I forget who) comments on how there was no one there but two bodies of an elderly couple in the back room. The room with the mattress and family picture. I don't remember what triggered the conversation but I definitely remember that.

Right, that was Lilly who provided that info to Lee when Lee asked her if anyone was in the pharmacy when her group arrived. I'm certain Lee's family (mom, dad, brother) are all dead. The only question I don't like to think about too much is who/how were the head wounds delivered to the parents since Lilly said they found two elderly bodies in the back room not two walkers that attacked Lilly's group.

Oh snap. I didn't think about it that way. Man, things just got dark. Er, darker.

I believe that's why they removed the bodies, was because they weren't sure they were "dead", obviously they hadn't reanimated yet. There's no information as to how long Lilly's group had been there before Lee arrived and the blood in the back room is still very red. If there were any head injuries inflicted, it was by Larry when he removed the bodies, but did they have that knowledge at that point?

thing about blood stains in all games/films and tv..

it's always red, but blood will dry up/congeal and turn brown after so long but becuse people would think that the brown stuff is liquid shit/poo/ skid marks and in some cases poo makes ppl gag and feel sick more so than blood will they make it red to say it's blood.. lol

i lol at csi/ncis and bones crime scenes when the blood should of turned brown

Point.

However, you have to wonder why Lee's parents hadn't turned yet. How sad if they just died prior to Lilly's and Lee's groups arriving. Maybe one or the other was fatally injured and they choose medicinal suicide after watching they youngest son die defending them.

In the comics, it was only after sometime past the outbreak, i think a month, did everyone start turning if they died cause of any reason. During the outbreak, and a few weeks afterwards, dead from bites/scratches turned you, but dead from othrr stuff meant you was just dead. I think this shows, that the whatever (virus), didn't infect everyone for awhile, so in the beginning, and for a little while, you could shoot someone in the chest, and they would be just dead. I think this is what happened to lee's parents. They died early on, and just stayed dead.

Interesting. That would suggest a contagion and a saturation point at which point it became active. I haven't read the comics, I've been trying to piece together bits on the Walking Dead Wiki.

It is even more inetersting cause the writer after ten? Years still will not say excalty what is going on. He refuses to explain it, and comic book time it has only been two years and most of that time has been spent running, not studing the whatever.
