Can it Be Done?

I haven't seen this answered in other threads (or I was not looking hard enough, and if so I am sorry) but it's been mentioned, even by me, that word on the Grapevine is Katjaa can be saved from Suicide, i.e. either it can be prevented outright or you can intervene, not sure which. What I do know is it keeps getting mentioned, both here and elsewhere but I have been, as yet, unable to get details. Has anyone prevented it and, if so, how?

it has been said that Katjaa's suicide can be prevented, but who said anything about her death being prevented?
Perhaps if you say certain things, Duck becomes infected and bites Katjaa, and then you have to finish them both off?
This is all theory though, I've got nothing to back it up. :P

Well, if so, that is incredibly disappointing. While I found Carly's death pointless (not tragically senseless, just poorly written and executed) Katjaa's suicide is horrifically understandable, the groundwork for which had been laid since episode 1 in her reactions to how much the world changed, the horrors of it, and how little she was able to cope outside of taking care of her child. Without him, well, it's understandable. Still, I could have sworn that preventing Katjaa's suicide was mentioned by someone from the Dev Team, but for the life of me I can't recall where...

Jokes aside, it could very well be the case that previous mentions did indeed indicate that it was possible to prevent her "suicide" yet not, ultimately, her death. If true, that's rather sad. She was, non-romantically, the kindest woman in the group and loosing her life as she does is tragic.
