Default I don't think Lee will die (This Season)

I finally decided to make an account after reading this forum for weeks, so apologies if I screw up anything. First time poster.

Reading the forums, I've seen many people theorizing about how they think Lee will die, I really don't think they would off him. Not yet anyway. So far we know Telltale is making a second season, which means bringing gamers back into the story. Think about it, a new protagonist and characters would be a bad call, remember guys you've all been introduced to this apocalypse already. A new protagonist means either starting this character in the situation, meaning changing his personality as the story is going would be wrong as this guy/gal would already have been 'defined' in a sense. Friendships and rivalry's have already been established meaning less character development. And if they want to start again from the beginning of the apocalypse then it would be a bit annoying because everything has already been set up. Clementine would be an interesting idea for a protagonist, yet we've been shaping her thus far so my guess would be that we could see all our raising pay off in Episode 4, 5 and season 2. It would kind of lessen our decisions if we just make her choices for her.

Heh, awesome screenname.

I'm definitely in the "Lee will probably die" camp because...that's just what kind of story this is. A happy ending where the protagonist lives doesn't seem like it would fit with TWD world. So yes, I think Lee will die, or at least I won't be surprised if he does. Frankly, I'm not even convinced Clem will make it out alive.

Did Telltale confirm anywhere that they're making a second series? The only thing I've heard is the usual, "yeah, we'd love to do a second season" that they've said about nearly every franchise they've worked on.

I'm not sure where I saw it, not an official confirmation of a season 2, but I want to say it was mentioned on an episode of Paying Dead or somewhere in the TT Blog that said something like they are working on season 2.

I'm not too concerned if Lee dies or not, it'll just be a part of the story and I'm more interested to see how rather than if.

I'm not really fond of the idea to finish off the lead character so quickly. I'd love to see at least another season with Lee and company.

I think Lee living or dying should be a final ultimate choice for the player to make. That seems most reasonable in a game like this. Perhaps even allow it to be "happy" if it's possible. It would suck hard if he's going down a typical "main character dying" path just for the sake of it. But of course it can be made well like in a certain R* game which I'm not going to spoil.

Oh, and confirmation for a season 2.

I wish we could have another season of "Lee an company" but "the company" has pretty much been obliterated as of EP3. Only Kenny and Clem are left from episode 1, and I think Kenny wants to "be with his family" again.

Oh and on a little side note, I don't think they'll do a 'Lee or Clementine' choice, because we all know 99.9% of players would pick her. Thats why I'm so doubtful.

And I think thats exactly why they WILL do it in the last episode.

Or maybe save Clem OR the whole group...

I love Clem and will save her regardless who will die for it.

I havnt seen anybody outright say that they think lee will die. People have suggested that he may die, but its highly unlikely he'll die in this season unless they plan for an entirely new cast nd storyline for the second season. So its pretty accepted that he wont die... at best seperate from the group nd go his own way

Considering the number of characters that have been killed off so far, I can't help but feel justice would be served if Lee did die.

I think Lee will die in episode 5, leaving Clem to start off next season.

However, I would not be surprised at all if everybody dies, and next season features new characters that somehow tie in to the comics (again).

Seriously, considering the events of episode 3, that seems to be the preferred outcome.

I don't think season two will feature any of the characters from season one. Maybe some cameo's but it will probably be entirely different story. At least so I hope

I dunno. I think it would be nice if Lee and Clem both survive going forward, as I think that 1 season is too early to kill them off. This can be compared to Rick and Carl in the comics. They are survivors. They've been through a lot so far, especially Carl, yet they stlll manage to survive. So yeah Lee and Clem should survive and season 2 would have different supporting characters.

Something that I think could be a huge "OMG" moment would be to...

Let Lee live through this season with Clementine and we start Season 2 as him. But the very first episode of season 2, he dies and we're forced in to the eyes of another survivor.

Probably won't happen. But it could be a helluva way to start a new season. Everyone is gearing up to be Lee and protect Clem. Then halfway through.... BANG. You become someone taking care of a mourning Clementine (barring she doesn't die at the end of this season.) Random food for thought.
