I verified the md5sums and they are as in the json file. It does seem to be working now after yet another restart. Hopefully I will not have to whinge about this any more.

The files work fine on Mac. Had the weird pink textures when I first started it. Escaped, restarted, set all graphics to max and everything worked fine. Thanks for helping, it is muchly appreciated!

Small update on my part, I tried starting the game up after installing the ep3 files for mac, it freezes at the loading screen in the beginning.

EDIT

And it finally worked after a couple of ttries.
Pretty weird that it's impossible to get the files working fine right away.

My episode 3 xml was called WalkingDead103.updated.json.
Since the script looks for WalkingDead103.json it doesn't work.

once i opened the python script with notepad and changed line 5 to:
json_name = name_base + ".updated.json"
everything works.
Thanks Djndb!

Massively dissapointed by this game.... Loved playing ep 1, worked perfect on my Mac Pro. Tries to download ep 2 and it naturally freezes on the magical number 99.55..

And the worst part is that ep 3 downloads perfectly!

Canīt get any of the fixes to work..

Seems like I wasted money on this game... Why canīt any working for Telltale reply on this forum? Scared?

It is getting more and more likely that i NEVER will spend any money again on a Telltale product.

EDIT:
I finally managed to get it to work...

The manual downloading of the files worked. Thanks for the help.

You sir, deserve 5 stars. The manual download worked for my Mac, and it played just fine. Episode 3 is downloading as we speak.

Why is this even necessary? Why can't we just click on the "get" and have it get the episodes? Mine won't download either 2 or 3 without supposedly timing out and losing connection.

I've followed your instructions and the TWD_Json_Downloader doesn't seem to be downloading anything. Certainly hasn't created any of the episode folders as suggested.

This seems a little bit ridiculous when we should be able to download the updates from within the game anyway........

Just frustrated as I'd love to continue with the next 2 episodes but this seems very broken IMO

It's just a workaround, which is better than nothing until there is an official patch.

If you installed python, and copied the .json files right next to the TWD_Json_Downloader.py, it should work.

I just updated the TWD_Json_Downloader.py to show error messages in even more cases.
It now also checks if the file is called ".updated.json" instead of just ".json".

Please download the latest version and try again. Should it still fail, please post the output/error messages.

thanks for the updated file. this one worked as it should have and created folders, and downloaded the episodes. There's one extra file in the ep 2 folder than the manually downloaded files. Haven't tried the episodes yet but i appreciate your help in getting this done

If I use the manual way, does this mean I have to constantly copy and paste it into the respective files of the particular episode until I start the game and the 'GET' icon changed to installed?

You should only have to copy the files once, and then press the "get" icon.

I did. And the first time it worked. But when i started the game, at the beginning at the previously on walking dead it had images, but slowly only voices. So i restarted. And when I on it back, it required me to click GET again. But this time it started to DL again.

I don't know why that is.
Are the files you downloaded and copied still in the right place?

I don't know if it has any influence, but you can try if deleting the contents of
%userprofile%\Documents\Telltale Games\The Walking Dead\SyncFs\Temp
helps, if available. That's where the game downloads the files before it copies them over.

Delete the whole folder?
