Spoilers! To those saying choices don't matter

Have any of you guys noticed that in most of your major choice moments Clem is there watching? She seems to always be there witnessing your actions, or at least hearing of them and talk to you about them. Think about Larry, in the meat locker you had to pick helping Kenny kill him when he was in a 'could be alive or dead' state or help Lilly revive him, people say this choice was meaningless because Lilly always leaves in Ep3 no matter what you say or do. But remember guys, Clem was there. Shes seeing what you do first hand, and I'm really hoping she picks up a thing or two from looking. Say if in episode 4 or 5 someone like Kenny falls over something and could be alive but is in a state of unconsciousness. If you battered in Larrys brains, Clem finally learns how to pull a gun and blows his brains out (I know how un-Clem this seems but it would be pretty amazing twist) But if you tried to revive him, Clem would try that then Lee could swoop in and help. Maybe if someone does another Lilly and kills another member of the group, depending on what you did with Lilly, Clem might say "Lee, leave that guy!" Or if you took her she might be undecided. Now of course if nothing like this happens and choices do become meaningless than Telltale you've been a very naughty boy! But I think maybe Telltale had built all of these choices to affect Clementine, and you. Especially you.

These arent the types of choices people were looking for. And if they are waiting 4 episodes to show us how the choices matter; its a bit late considering its a 5 part series

On the contrary, we're in the middle of the story. I think Clementine's life lessons are going matter by the end.

I think Telltale will make the choices in Season 2 matter much more. I mean this 5 part series was just to get you familiar with the characters and such.

I'm relatively new to the forums so I apologise if I'm wrong here, but it seems like hell has been kicked up about choices all because of Episode 3.

I wonder if Carley/Doug hadn't have died, if there would still be so many complaints over choices mattering? I will admit I feel our choices don't have as big of an impact as I had imagined but part of me also thinks this whole fuss is just being kicked up because some folk are still quite bitter about not being able to save a favoured character, which is completely understandable.

Like I said though I am fairly new so this is just my take on it at the moment. I don't know how the fan reaction was after the release of Episode 2, it just seems right now there's an abundance of "Choices Do/Don't Matter" threads and I think the deaths in Episode 3 might have something to do with them.

That would be a horrible idea. Why would you dedicate a whole game to just learning the characters, and then kill them off before they can even be in the sequal? Not to mention it was advertised this game about major decisions mattering.

Not that I care, I only bought the game to have a new Walking Dead experience, and I got that.

maybe they did this to test out their choice format, and in Season 2 they can expand upon it even more

Making the choices matter in Season 2 sounds like a great idea actually, it's the long-term affects on clem that i keep thinking about. That little girl may go the Carl rout or the Sophia route in this case.

I think you're at least partly right. There were those "choices don't matter" threads before Ep2, but they seem to have exploded after Ep3. Personally, I bought the game to get a good story, and characters I feel invested in. I've been right on both of those counts so far!

They said @ Pax that in the next episode, something big that has to do with MOST of your choices is going to happen. I for one am anxious to seeing what it is. It has to involve Kenny or Clementine and I'm excited to see what it is.

Plus, I'm completely happy with the choices we've had thusfar. I don't need Heavy Rain here. I'd expect to pay 2 1/2 times more for that but for what I've paid? This is easily the best bang for my buck that I've had and one of the best XBL Arcade games there is. (Yes I'm a console-gamer. Not apologizing for it!)

Exactly, if everyone came in here with that frame of mind, we'd all be hugging and FBing each other. Im glad I didnt read the features page from the website, apparently they had people thinking they can do everything in this game but cure cancer

(This thread gonna get merged, I think)

Ugh. 3 issues there actually.
1. I do not really care what Clam thinks, she was not the most important character in the game for me. The story was never giving me a clue it's about murderer taking care of a random girl, sounds to cheesy for me, I wouldn't fall for such a story. For me, the game opened up an interesting side of myself: how do I chose who lives and who dies. Now, my choice doesn't matter in the end. I mean, what?
2. Episodes 2-3 dealt with all characters I had some feelings (either love or hatered) toward except for Clam. I mean, Ben, Kenny, this Hobo, new couple - I don't care what will happen to them, they can shoot each other, burn alive or just turn around and walk toward the hoard - really, who cares? Unless the game's gonna offer some new very likeable characters right in the beginning of the episode 4, my goal will be to survive myself and may be - may be! - help surviving Clam if I get a chance for that.
3. Episode 3 is, erm, well, a separate game from my point of view, so I expect to have what I've been promised when I bought this game here, in episode 3, not in some near/distant future. I have been constantly told that it's only $5, and you know what, the other episodic comic-based game I bought this month was $5, and it offered me whatever it was promising, without all these 'just wait for the next episode'.

So, what's the point in me doing choices if the game just discards them right away? Don't get me wrong, I like the game and will buy the next episode, but the game does not stand for what it was promising.

Exactly, people seemed to expected way more than the game has to offer because most of them interpret the "Game adapts to the choices you make" in an exaggerated manner. But I'm fairly sure (a man's gotta hope) that next 2 episodes we're gonna be seeing the choices we made before matter, since we're reaching the end of the game.

he

The reason is it's only in episode 3 we find this out like if you save Carley in episode 1 she still dies anyway if you get what I mean.
