Default Another kid?

First thread i have started...
Do you think Clem will get another friend in 4 or 5 as she must be lonely without Duck. Lees getting closer to her by the minute but another kid would be nice. But I fear it may wait for Season 2.

it would be nice for Clementine to have a friend of near her age, i cant see another child being in the game, for the moment anyway, it would just be to much to deal with.

No. The death of the only other person her age pushed her closer to Lee, and the deaths of so many other group members pushed Lee closer to Clem. Bringing in another kid would detract from the fact that now all they truly have are each other.

funny when most of us assume christa is pregnant and there will be another kid/baby in the group if she gives birth(this could be a very sad moment if the baby died or christa and her baby got eaten).

Christa isn't even showing yet, so it'll be MANY months before that kid comes. She'll either be on the boat/island or dead by then.

You know what's funny? I actually thought Jolene's daughter was going to make an appearance and have Clem as a friend.

Bringing in another kid like Duck would be like brining in another love interest like Carley. It takes too much away from the Player/Lee-Clem relationship.

No, another kid really wouldn't fit in well with the theme Walking Dead has now established; with every chapter, things are getting progressively worse and Gary Whitta has confirmed it only gets much, much worse from here on out. I also like this idea that Clem is really now the only true innocence left within our group and the world as Lee knows it. It makes the objective of protecting her that much more important and dire because she is one of the few left in this world (and the only one as far as we know) that is innocent and has held onto her humanity. Hopefully it stays that way from all fronts.

Chapter 3 really shows that there are no boundaries that this outbreak will not cross as all innocence and trust (Duck and Carley/Doug) is being destroyed through savagery and paranoia. Now, we have a truly haunting and horrible idea of what is waiting up ahead in the next chapter. Introducing another kid wouldn't fit this running theme that things are just getting worse and worse. It would seem really forced in my opinion to introduce an additional child and also runs the risk of the character being really annoying.

What makes you think Clem is still innocent?

She has been witness to at least the following events I can remember off the top of my head.

1. Lee smashing her babysitters face in with a hammer
2. Being attacked by a walker in the Pharmacy toilet.
3. Being attacked by another walker during the escape from the Pharmacy.
4. (optional) Eating human meat.
5. Watching Kenny smash Larry's head in inside the meatlocker.
6. Seeing the slaughter room while escaping from the meatlocker.
7. (optional) Watching Lee kill Danny with a pitchfork
8. (optional) Watching Lee kill Andy
9. Being held hostage by the bandits
10. Watching Lilly kill Carley/Doug
11. Duck dying.
12. The walkers in the train station.

I think it's safe to say Clem lost her innocence at the same time her babysitters eyeball got stuck to the end of Lee's hammer

Nah, I think she didn't really understand what was going on with Sandra. I'm pretty sure she her innocence when she saw me skewer Danny after smashing Larry's head in.

I don't see how innocence (and I'm not agreeing that she is still innocent) is a trait to be nurtured in the middle of the zombie apocalypse. In fact, innocence and naivete gets you killed. Be tough or be dead....doesn't matter how old/young you are.

I dunno, I think it could add a interesting new dynamic. I would like it if we saw bandits and cruel people with kids, could make us think twice before killing them. Imagine killing a bandit, only to see his son walk up to his fathers body. What do you do with the kid afterwards aswell? Leave him to die or look after him and risk vengeance.

Just an idea
