I don't think the bite makes Lee's death obligatory. I mean, going just based on the games (because I haven't read the comics) the base assumption still seems to be that everyone is already infected and will turn no matter how they die, so why shouldn't that work both ways, i.e. getting bit can't infect you since you're already infected? Arguably, it could be that the virus gets stronger through the bite, but if it was trying to kill you I honestly doubt whether it couldn't achieve that over time without outside help. So based on this assumption, a bite would most likely only cause a normal infection (since human bites are very dangerous by default and prone to get infected), and Vernon should now have antibiotics which Lee could use if he and his posse find Vernon.
Aside from this, I don't think TTG would've put the bite scene to the end of this episode if they were actually going to have Lee killed from that bite. Stuff like this is used to build up speculations in the community while waiting for the next episode to be released, and nearly everyone will take it for granted that the bite is lethal, so the only viable reason they'd put that scene at the end of the second last episode instead of during the last one, is that they want to provide a surprise related to it in the last episode... and the only viable surprise seems to be that Lee, one way or the other, shakes the infection off.
I do believe Lee will die in the last episode, but from some other cause.
