Vernon bug?

So I just played through episode and could not find in the forums about anyone else really talking about this. This will have spoilers, you have been warned.


So after the raid and we get back to the house Vernon starts yelling at me when I sympathetic about Brie. He claims I threatened him and treated him like crap. Um...I never threatened him at all I was pretty nice considering he put a gun and face while someone was telling him to blow my brains out. does he act like that regardless of what you do? Because I was nice to him the entire time. my stat screen was broken (a common post I have been seeing on the forums) could that have something to do with it? Maybe its not recording my choices? I did not see any choices from ep. 1-2 come up and only like 2 things from 3 came up.

Dude, I had the exact same issue with this madass.

He kept yelling at me, treating me like shit, accusing me of obscene things I never did to him, while I constantly played fair with him, except I lied bout Clem, telling him he is my daughter. Is this why he is so mad at me?? And I even considered giving him Clem... I just can't resist psychological violence -_-

I did not lie about Clementine, I took Clementine with me to Crawfard, and Lee was either reasonable or neutral. Vernon was not threatening or hostile in my game. Maybe it is a bug for you guys?

I resolved the first meeting peacefully, told the truth about Clementine, and I left her at the manor. He never got angry at me.

That is THE only thing I guess you can consider I did "wrong" to him, but really? It is not really that far from the truth. She is basically my daughter now considering I am acting as her father, raising her, and keeping care for her.

I really hope that is not the case. one of the really annoying things I hated with Kenny is that I was on his side 9 times out of 10 but for that one time? He totally flips out on me despite the fact I have had his back before (and saved his hide multiple times, only for him to leave me for dead just as many times)

I feel the same as you, as I had the same issues with Kenny. But, honestly, after this talk with Vernon, he could burn in hell I would not care much... But only a replay will tell now

I am starting to see a pattern from the 3 posts so far. it seems he only gets angry and upset if you lie about Clementine, regardless if you resolved the meeting peacefully or took her with you or not.

But as I stated earlier, if that is the case I think that's a REALLY stupid thing to get upset about. Especially considering technically she is my daughter.

but that may not be true. will have to see if anymore people share their data before I can come up with anything definitive.

Although this is unlikely...

Vernon is a doctor; Clementine's parents were in a hospital. (I think. Or was it just the father? Anyway.) Maybe Vernon knew Clementine's parents and was secretly angry with you for lying when he met Clementine. n_n

Yeah he treated me pretty badly and I was kinda shocked because through out the game I had treated him nicely and even saved him from some zombies.
So when he started going off on me I was clueless.

Also he was the one who brought Brie I never asked him to bring her.

Well I have my own theory on leaders of TWD, you need to be crazy.

So far look Kenny, Lilly, Rick, The Governor, Shane, Negan.

While Rick isn't super crazy he isn't all there anymore.
