Default Did they bring a Walker herd to savannah?

In the TV show, a single helicopter sent a cityfull of zombies in the direction of Hershal's farm. The herd they encountered at the end of episode 3 would have undoubtedly followed that train. Maybe Vernon spotted a huge herd of zombies by the railroad when they were in the tower, and that's why he was asking about the direction the group came in from. And now episode 5 will feature massive horde of zombies.

Macon is like 165 miles from Savannah and the average walk for a human is like 3 mph lots of math but that means if you were walking it would take about 55 hours but since they weren't exactly in Macon it may be a little less than that those zombies were just plot convenient

Well, it's their second day in Savvanah by the time Episode 4 ends, and they were probably a great deal closer to Savannah than Macon when they encountered the herd at the overpass. They had been on the train for at least a few hours by the time they met Christa and Omid (who they met about 2 hours after Kat and Duck died), so it seems believable that the herd arrived when it did. I think.

they'd been in Savannah for less than 24 hours. And the walkers got there before Lee fell asleep.

There was scene in the TV Show last season. Where a walker was walking through a field in the morning when they were driving down the road. When they came back at the end of the EP, the walker was still walking through the field.

Oh jeeze.

You seem to be forgetting that the entire world is filled with walkers now.

But hey, make a poll about it.

I think you have a point OP. Also, I don't think it's the zombies from Macon, there are millions of zombies out there.

I'm willing to bet, that by the time it's all said and done, any walker within earshot of the rail-line will be in savannah, eventually.

Of course, that'll make the area around the rail-line fairly safe for a while... after the herd moves to savannah that is.

They did not enter Savannah for another 12 hours after they stopped the train, mostly likely because they didn't feel comfortable going into the city during the dead of night. Gary Whitta mentions this in the stream and Kenny also states it's been 12 hours depending on how you speak in the opening minutes of the episode.

They raid Crawford at night and by sunset, Vernon can see the herd, still far away but still moving. That is almost 24 hours there from the start of the episode, which is 12 hours since the last one, so figure 36 hours overall since they stopped the train. When Lee goes to sleep and wakes up, it's either a new day or the twilight hours of the same day and the herd does not appear until Lee and whoever else enters Vernon's base.

Overall, it's almost two days or more since they stopped the train so the herd would have had plenty of time to get there. Also, it could not necessarily be the same herd; Lee and his group had a huge traveling distance from the train station to Savannah still so this herd may be all the zombies between those intervening points with the rest catching up as Episode 5 continues so thousands upon thousands keep entering the city. Two days seems like a reasonable time period though for the herd to catch up to the group in Savannah.

quick question and maybe this aint the place for it but, are the walkers supposed to be like the ones in the tv show? after beating episode 4 i decided to watch the series and in the show they seem alot smarter and faster. ie: walkers can run and use rocks and tools to break down doors in the show while in the game they just kinda speed walk and slap the door.

Which episode(s) showed walkers using tools. I've watched the entire series from the beginning and don't remember that.

IIRC the Dr. at the CDC stated that the only parts of their brains that still function are the basic motor functions and the base instinct of feeding.

i think it was the end of season 1 at the cdc if you look at the glass doors, watch the walkers. half of them got decent sized rocks in their hands. It sort of looks like the scene in crawford (spoiler) before ben screws up

they didn't follow the train all the way from macon, but the train would be attracting any zombies for a few miles radius of the train, so that includes all the zombies that have just wandered out of the main part of savannah
