The Great Cow Race Who is John Wilkes Booth ?

I'm hoping someone could enlighten me as to who this character is. He appears in the slide show during the production of a mental alignment card. Emmet has to have a negative association in order to get the right card but I worked this out by trial and error, why should a player know who he is ? Have I missed something ?

I seriously hope you're either not American or a troll. If I find out anyone in the United States doesn't know who John Wilkes Booth is, I will be very, very sad.

It's a valid question if you don't live in North America. Granted, if you have that question and are from USA, Canada, Mexico, you probably deserve a smack, but otherwise, fair question.

I'm here in little England and he's not listed in my English (Oxford) reference book.

All right, that's fair, then. I'm guessing the Lincoln assassination isn't as big a deal in the UK as it is in the States.

But yes, Booth killed Lincoln, a tradition which would later be continued by Sam and Max.

I know who he is. He's Seeley Booth's ancestor.

And still I'm wondering: Typing "John Wilkes Booth" into Google is a LOT faster than typing such a post AND waiting for an answer...

People nowadays...

John Wilkes Booth is a member of the celebrated acting dynasty, that also includes Tony Booth and his daughter Cherie Blair. Really true.

Nice Bones reference Coolsome . John Wilkes Boothe assaniated Abraham Lincoln, the 16th president of the United States, and the signer of the amancipation, a presidential act which prohibited slavory. The game IS set in the USA, and the characters are mostly Americans, so there is no reason why some US history couldn't figure into the game.

You're right but I managed to solve the puzzle with trial and error. It was just one of those nagging things.

Pretty much. US history isn't part of the Australian (well, NSW anyway) school syllabus beyond study within a broader world context. So in school I was taught about the assassination of Archduke Ferdinand, but not the assassination of Abraham Lincoln. Most of what I do know about US history is from books, TV, internet, and Day of the Tentacle.

Same here, in Spain. We have enough by studying our own European history (from the ancient Greece and Rome -and other Mediterranean cultures, such as Egypt, Phoenicians, etc-, to the Spanish Civil War and the World War II, with all the things in-between). That makes almost three millenia of data to study...

Hey, I wasn't taught US history beyond 1812...except slight facts from the Great War and World War II which we were taught from a world perspective. All my US history is from TV, movies and books. I had a choice between two history semesters in my final year of high school... US Civil War or The Ottoman Empire.... and let's be honest here, the Ottoman Empire was much more interesting.

Except that the Kite experiment and Constitutional writing sessions didn't take place on the same day. As far as you know.

I dunno. He (not John Wilkes Booth) could have been flying kites at the same time that that mouse was writing the Constitution.....

(Incidentally, I learned pretty much everything I know about baseball from "Peanuts". Joe Shlabotnik's not a very good player, right?)

If you look the screen with the Wilkes' slide on it, Marty explains who is him.

He shots to death to Abraham Lincoln.
